Free oil changes
I was under the impression a 2019 c7 got the 500 mile break in oil change free in addition to two more free oil changes. But my dealer and a customer rep on the GM website seem to think you only get 2 free oil changes (the 500 mile one is part of the 2). Which is correct, and does anyone have any documents that would prove it?

If you want more, tell 'em I said you can have my freebies... NO WAY I'm letting them muck around with my car.

You can have my freebies as well...bought my car 9/11/2015 and have yet to use them...much prefer to spend my own time and money doing it myself so that I can rest assured that it is done properly...

I rather do them myself and know what I'm getting. Too many "free" oil change horror stories out there. Besides, I can change my oil without leaving my house with much less hassle then driving to the dealer, waiting for it or arranging a drop-off / pickup.

PS - the window sticker doesn't address the mandatory 500 mile oil change for dry sump engines.

That's a fair point... lol. I just wish the oil required was available in stores by now, might have to bite the bullet and try to buy it from a dealership, but I've heard it should be hitting stores soon.

I forget, but I know it was written on something I received from GM. I'll have to look for that and respond. However, I was also told so directly from the local dealership's service manager when I brought it in for its 500 mile service. FYI: This was not the same dealership from which I purchased the vehicle as they were out-of-state.

Window sticker reads 2 oil changes but this doesn't include the 500 miler for the dry sump, so if you have a dry sump it is 3, if no dry sump 2. I have one left for my dry sump 17 GS and I think there is a 2 yr time limit to get all three or two. This is what my dealer told me. Play nice guys, this C7 forum has a lot of mad folks on it, chill out.

I was told that the dealer I bought my car from gave me the first oil change as part of purchase, and GM would be paying for the next 2 oil changes. So far I have had the oil changed twice, and haven't paid for either.

I got three for my ‘16 Stingray. Paid for number four in June.

I agree, but also find it unnerving to forgo service that I've paid for in the price of the car. As ZJoe6 correctly said, these "free" oil changes aren't really free. The key is to find a dealer and tech you can trust. They're out there and you just have to find them. All that said, I have one more coming in Feb. and after that it'll be DIY for the duration.

You get the 500 mile break-in oil change, and then 2 more within the first two years. All reimbursed to the service department by Chevrolet.
All provided you have a new ZR1, Z06, Grand Sport or Z51 equipped Stingray.
My dealer is awesome, they sell Corvettes so they know the deal. Free plug to Capitol Chevrolet in Salem Oregon who also sponsors our Corvette club and provides a beautiful conference room for us to have our monthly meetings free of charge.
There are good dealerships out there.
