Default LT1 Engine Plant

Was watching the Nora Roper video on updates to the Bowling Green Assembly Plant. She mentioned that the LT1 engine was manufactured in St. Catherines, Ontario plant and a small number at Bowling Green.

Thought that the LT1 engines were built in the Tonawanda Plant.

Was production shifted to St. Catherines?

I didn't realize that they were making the LT1 engine in St Catharines, I should know this since my cousin has worked in that plant for the past 30+ years! The interesting thing is that I bought my C7 from a dealer in St Catharines, so if the engine was built there too, that is kinda funny that the engine started it's life there, then was shipped to Bowling Green to go in my car, and then the entire car shipped back to St Catharines again

Kai Spande told us at a meeting with our club 2 weeks ago that some LT1's are occasionally assembled at the plant in Bowling Green.

My two buddies and I toured the Tonawanda engine plant in 2015 ( each of us owns a C7 - '14, '15, and '16). We were told all C7 engines at that time, except the ZO6 engine, are (were) assembled there. It was an impressive and educational experience with an outstanding guide.
Equally impressive were the NCM and assembly tours in BG. All are highly recommended.
