My question is. For all of the z06 overheating complaints is it with the automatic transmission only or both?
Speaking to the automatic, I can tell you this;
I've driven two, 2018, Z06, A8's on the track. Driven to their maximum capability, they both overheated and it didn't take long for that to happen (couldn't finish the race). As a driver, you can help the Z06 A8 "manage itself" by short shifting (below ~5,000 rpm) and keeping the RPM's low by not downshifting too much in the slower corners. But for me, it's detracting and frustrating to constantly help the car manage it's heat issues.
I can't speak to the manual, except to say I'm sure it's better. How much better? Someone else will have to answer that portion for you.
I know this, I would not even consider a Z06, A8 if tracking was big on my agenda. Other's will have a different opinion, I'm telling you mine.
