Oil cap
At many dealers it's hard to get quality mechanics (like many blue collar jobs) so the newbie often working the least difficult tack, changing oil, y knw what the boss told him! Use that 55 gallon drum of oil in the oil change work bay. It could be a dexos certified oil blend they bought from the lowest cost supplier. That is what 99.5% of the cars and trucks they service need. Also all the tech has to do is pull a handle on the pump to fill with that "whatever" oil. To get the 10 quarts of 0W-40 they have to go to the parts department, sign out for the oil and drag them back to their work station.
Don't get me wrong many dealer techs will do that BUT not all. Be sure to ask or do what I do for most service of tire chage stand outside the service bay and watch! I also give a tip if it's done right and let that be known. Your car do as you wish! If you trust they will not overfill - fine. But many are asking he Tech to put in 9 quarts and give the 10th and they check the level when they get home while it is hot.
Would guess even very good techs may not take the 10 minutes to warm up the engine so they can check the level! It's the level that is important NOT some volume estimate in a table!
