Default Throttle Body Cover

Does anyone have a throttle body over with an aftermarket intake? I purchased my car with an aftermarket intake, so I don't know how much it differs from the OEM intake. But the throttle body covers I see say that they are compatible with OEM intakes only.

This is the throttle body cover I'm wondering about: https://www.rpidesigns.com/shop/item.aspx?itemid=4942

I’m sure somebody has. It might help if you say what aftermarket intake you are trying to get it to work with.

Where did you get the fuel rail and plenum covers?

I assume you mean how it attaches. It comes with a bracket that is held in place by the OEM intake ring clamp. The intake cover is then pressed onto the bracket. Both the bracket and underside of the intake cover has Velcro. Believe me it’s straight forward and easy to attach.

I have an aFe intake. Car came with that so I don't know how much it differs from the stock intake.

Wondering if I can get it to fit my aFe intake. Like the way it looks!

How does the cover attach? Any chance you can show us a picture of the underside of that cover?

Here’s my throttle body cover. There’s an arched metal clip of sorts on the under side that snuggly holds it in place.

I’m not clear if you were asking about a throttle body cover or air box “intake”. Anyway hope this helps.

^^^ That's exactly the piece I am asking about. But it looks like you have an OEM intake as well. Since I never had an OEM intake on my car, I can't really appreciate the difference between an OEM and aftermarket intake and therefore can't understand why the TB cover won't fit with aftermarket intakes.

Yours looks great, BTW.

Hero, I'm not aware of aFe producing a throttle body. They do however have a throttle body spacer (sits between the TB and the manifold). Is that what you're referring to as aftermarket intake/TB? They also, of course have aftermarket intakes (CAI). How about posting up a pick of what you've got? Could help expedite a helpful response here.

The cover that I want has a description that says, "this part will only work on the stock air box and air tube, it will not work with an aftermarket cold air kit." I have an aftermarket CAI (aFe) and want to understand why the cover won't fit the aFe intake.

Ah, I think i finally understand your ask. The aFe air tube’s route to the throttle body and its shape is different than the OEM air tube. The throttle body cover is desiged to fit over the shape and bends of the OEM air tube as it mates up to the throttle body. I can fully understand why the cover won’t fit with an aftermarket intake due to the differences in the air tube used.

Sorry. Probs not what you wanted to hear.

Not what I was hoping to hear, but thank you for clearing that up! If I didn't get an answer, I was going to order the cover and hope for the best. So thanks for saving me the time, money, and headache. Cheers!
