Default Another bent wheel thread-question

I'd like to ask a question and confine my question to only current MY 2019 Grand Sports and Z06 owners. I would like to get a sense as to whether GM has finally addressed the known bent/cracked wheel problem and has reengineered the wheels on these vehicles I cited. Here goes. Has anybody with a either a 2019 Grand Sport or Z06 had any issues with their wheels bending, cracking, or going out of round and what were the particular circumstances you feel that led to this failure? After a cursory search on this forum I could only find 1 poster (2019 owner) indicating they had 2 bent rims but it was not clear whether the cause could be attributed to a road hazard condition and/or over inflated tires. I thank all owners that reply.

I had 3 bents wheel and 1 cracked wheel. Wheel and tire insurance covered the repair of the 3 bent and the one cracked wheel. I am in NJ and the roads suck. I do think more is involved than the lousy roads. There are to many with this issue for it to be the roads we are driving on

Is your vehicle a 2019? Didn't think they had Black Rose 2019 Corvettes. I am trying to find out if GM addressed the wheel problem for model year 2019 "only".

The problem is that there is not yet comparable data for '19s since there are fewer on the road for less time. Do this "survey" in a year and compare to other years. All the best.

Keep in mind that the 2019s get the new Mag ride calibrations so they supposedly absorb the bumps better than cars with the prior mag ride calibrations. So, the softer suspension may be helping a bit with the bent/cracked wheel issue.

highly questionable. The jury is out on 2019. Eventually the truth will be known.

I wonder how many bent or cracked rims have occurred while in track mode during street driving. If you hit a pothole in track mode, you're going to damage a rim.

I know the folks at Ron Fellows driving school have stated not to use track mode unless you are on a smooth track or you could damage a wheel.

My bent wheel occurred in Touring mode and before the MRC upgrade.

The 2019's don't need the MRC upgrade. They already have it.

I am aware of that Joe. Just asking the poster to confirm his/her vehicle is a 2019. Sorry for the confusion.

GM never admitted there was a problem, so why would they change anything, particularly in what will likely be the last model year of the C7? It's our fault for hitting a pothole according to Tadge.

No problem. His is a 2017. I saw it in a thread he started about his bent rim.

I have a 2019 GS,last week I hit a small pot hole, bent two rims on the inside of the rim. This is my 8th Corvette I have never bent a rim ,and I lived in upstate New York,I have hit pot holes that you would have though would have bent my frame, but no damage. This time I hit a small bump in the road driving to Florida and two bent wheels. I'm getting estimates now, looks like almost $2000,only have 1600 miles on my car. I cannot tell you how disappointed I 'm with my new car

I lived in Rochester New York I know what a pot hole can be.This is my 8th corvette ,the first seven were in new york never had a bent rim. The estimates are close to $1600,Insurance said it would be a incident and would go on to a carfax, and would look like a collision. I;m very disappointed I was driving in the tour mode
