There is plenty of space between the trunk/hatch and the tub rim for the wire to go through without pinching the wire. The weather strip deforms around the wire.

The closed trunk gaps are pretty tight. Regardless of where I place the wire with the trunk closed, it kinks in a manner that I'm not comfortable with. Leaving the trunk slightly open works for me. Plus I cover the car whenever I have it plugged in.
Does anyone know if the (+) connector by the fuse box can be used for boosting a dead battery?
It is NOT recommended that you use that fuse box connection to jump a dead battery. The manual states quite clearly that you jump the battery AT the battery in the rear.
It is a good spot for a battery maintainer connection but that's pretty much it.

I'm going to order this adapter for my Battery Tender. In the past I have had issues with this type of connector having to wiggle it to make connection which turned me away from using them. But I guess if people on this forum are not having any problems with them I might just be over paranoid. Probably just depends on the quality of the connector.
