Interesting story..
So I run at the tracks every so often especially when I get off work. Mind you, I have two other cars, a 02 Ford Explorer (Clear coat is peeling on the top and side) and a used 2010 Nissan Altima (front bumper needs work) and I drove the Explorer to work that day. The only parking spot available was next to a nice 2013 M3 (two door). About an hour passed and I'm getting ready to leave I noticed a nice young lady walking in the same direction and it happened to be her M3. Said hi, complimented her and told her that is a bitchin ride, last of the V8 for the M3. She smiled and said likewise, I like your Ford Explorer as well. LOL I don't know if she meant it or was just being nice but I will admit that I felt a bit embarrassed (that clear coat peeling is no bueno). We just chit chatted about her car and I noticed how nice she was to try to talk about mine, the space, room and easy it is to go on camping trips.
I'm struck, she is beautiful, looks to be sort of a fitness trainer, fake *****, etc so she looks really hot standing next to her M and here she is being very humble towards my old Explorer and carrying to conversation. The reason why I'm struck is because I know many women in their 30's-40's who judge a man by what car he drives. It's not really the car of course, it's just some sort of a measure of success. If he can afford a nice car, he must be doing well for himself. The younger girls, or girls that are struggling usually care less what car you have. But the more successful a women, the more they will look to see if you are financially stable. Most of my female friends from exec admins to VP's has a nice car to compliment their looks. They worked hard for it and there is nothing wrong with that.. although they always sed "I know you don't expect to pick up women in your Explorer!" Haha Yep, I look poor coming out the Explorer
I never mentioned that I have a 3LZ/Z07 in my garage and you know what, she doesn't need to know that right now anyways
Anyways, good feeling inside that I wasn't put off by my old beater.. and no, I didn't ask for her number this time.. perhaps next time if I see her ; )

You should ask her for a ride in it. Then to be gentleman, offer one in return. Bring the vette. Or she may be the wiser and already know you drive a VETTE. Game on!

Im going to share an old lesson my grandfather taught me when I told him a similar "I didn't get her number" story like yours.. He replied:
"Have you ever wondered why the most beautiful women are with the ugliest men? Because the ugly guy is the only one who had the guts to go up and ask her out..."
Words of wisdom I never forgot...

story, but yes, you need to do a quick follow-up and get her number/ask her out.

Same combo here.....3rd gen Explorer is my DD beater so I'm able to have a C7. I have some rust on the roof, forward rockers, and over RR tire - but I'm thinking she will die of a heart attack before cancer gets her. 187,000 miles and still going. Best $2500 I've spent on a used vehicle to date. I don't have a catch can on the Explorer and she has never shuddered or had the RPM wander cuz she's always in 6 cylinder mode and always shakes a little.

I'm not too worried about the number since I'm in the midst of dating someone just as hot! Ahhh.. the single life!

She was probably just trying to be nice. You complimented her car so she returned the favor.
