I just purchased a 2019 GS convertible in Ceramic Matrix Grey Metallic. The Monroney Sheet shows that color name but when my parts guy at the dealership ran the VIN, it lists the color as Genesis Metallic. What's up with that???

GM uses different names for the same color on different cars - for example, I have watkins glen grey (corvette) but the same color is called nightfall grey (camaro) and son of a gun grey (cruise, etc).

I've looked up aftermarket paint and saw I would be charged twice as much if I ordered the paint code using the Corvette name, VS picking the same paint code under the Chevy Cruze color name. The funny thing is if you look at the Cruze in person, the color doesn't look quite the same as on the Corvette. Different painting techniques??
