Default Seriously looking at this

Please advise what I should be looking out for, given its age, despite only having 8k miles. I haven't had enough time to search the forum for common C7 Z51 3LT related issues yet. I have worked on older Vettes but don't know anything about the new ones other than that I have sat in, driven 2 and really liked the cockpit. This seems like a good deal from what I have seen locally and a 40 minute visual and test drive revealed zero flaws, but I was mainly not wanting to get kicked out of the car with the sales guy acting like a unic. lol

Not sure if it goes back to the 2014 models, the 3LT trim package can have problems. My 2016 (and many others) have had problems with the leather splitting or coming loose, usually but not limited to the area around the defroster vents. $$$ to repair, warranty will be over fir your 2014 and extended warranties don’t cover trim items.

Price seems a bit high to me. There is some negotiating room there.

Dang, that sounds like more than a little issue. I drove it mostly in touring mode and liked it way better than the CTS-V I went to buy. lol Aside from the trim issue the rest is decent enough? I was thinking about the extended warranty but not sure it it is a good idea or not. I seem to never get much value from them.

The only ones around here that I have found which were much cheaper were all sticks. I can't push a clutch every day so I am going to pay more it seems.

About to hit the sack, will check back tomorrow. Thanks.

Ditch the extended warranty thing - it's mostly a loss. I also have a 2016. Not a problem at all with the leather splitting or anything like that.

Aside from it being an automatic, with a 2014 there's a number of things that you will not get including (IIRC) a front camera, rear hatch closer and the kicker for me - no support for Android Auto.

I din't pay that much attention to it buy I saw pandora so I thought I would be good. I don't have experience with android auto so I may not know what I am missing. lol It there an upgrade, reflash or a work around to get the 14 up to par here?

Make sure to check blue book and NADA. They are probably charging the market price for a dealer. Just make sure it's worth what you pay for it. If you like it but it. The miles are fairly low for a 2014.

To old for the money, for a couple grand more you can get a 2019 from Kerbecks or MacMaulkins. Keep shopping IMO

This is a very cool tool. It tells you if you are getting a good deal or not.

That prices is way to high.

Suggestions: check GM-dealer, free VIS report on car; do get a GM-GMEPP extended warranty (but first find out if you don't use it after you get it if you can get a full or partial refund), and if you've only worked on older Vettes, bring/take car to someone w. a lift who knows what to look for (problems). Finally, follow advice re ckg. price--it does appear to be high for that year and that car.

If you don't want all the options, look at three or four of the biggest sellers' sites like this: https://kerbeck.com/new-corvette-inv...srp&order=ASC;

this: http://www.criswellchevrolet.com/Veh...20Coupe%201LT;

this: https://www.macmulkin.net/VehicleSea...ange_max=55000

Thanks for the link. Doing a "within a 500" mile search including same basic options the next cheapest one, not in the color I want either, is less than 1500 cheaper, so not that much less and that one doesn't have a couple of things that would about make up the price difference. So If I ship a car, not doing that again, the price difference is almost nothing. The M6 cars seem to be several grand less than the A6 cars which sucks, but it is what it is I guess.

Not trying to defend this price or dealership at all, just buying my first Vette and lack experience in these models.

Thanks

I have a 14 Z51, 3LT Coupe and have had zero issues. If you don’t consider buying a car for issues that might happen your choices are pretty limited. The 14 6 speed auto seems to be problem free compared to the 8 speed. 14’s seem to have less problems overall. I’m sure enjoying mine.

I did notice in the description of the car it lists the Performance Data Recorder as one of the options. This was not available in 2014. Not sure why it shows that.

Will look at those links. Thanks for the help. I have 5 hours to decide or the car goes back to the lot and I take my chances on whether or not it will sell this weekend. I really like the ergonomics of the C7 and with my busted up body I am not comfortable in a lot of vehicles, so if this car is meant to be then it will happen. I bought 1 car that I shouldn't have in the past against my gut feeling, and it is up for sale and nobody in their right mind wants to buy it. lol I do have a good feeling about this car, but I will check out those links now. Thanks for the info about the VIS or GM-GMEPP. I know nothing about that, just see it mentioned here and there, time to look into that too.

So the 14 has the 6L80E and not the 8L90E?

Thanks for the input, my luck is hit and miss. My last new car is 3 yrs old and has had issues since I bought it and Honda didn't do **** to fix some of the real issues or the little ones.

I really liked how well mannered this 2014 Vette drove and it could get up and go like it should when needed. I will drive it again before signing anything, just in case, but I did spend over 6hours at the dealer 2 days ago, so I wasn't exactly in a hurry then.

If it meets all your wants and needs buy it. You can not post a Vette purchase price on this forum without receiving several replies on better deals, what I paid, try this dealer, etc. All well intentioned but at some point you have to pull the trigger on the car you want and at the price you are willing to pay.
The car looks fine to me and there are really no big known issues to worry about specific to the 2014 year.

That was just one site...
Have you tried www.AutoTrader.com

After owning an A8. There is no way I would go back to an A6. Never a manual.
The A8 shifts sooooooo fast and sounds great.
