Default So how fast do you think the C7 will go in...reverse?

Ya'll know me to ask some out there questions so here is one. How fast will the c7 go in reverse on the two auto trannys and how fast in the manual? Going fast in reverse is a rush and a challenge but I don't want to screw anything up on the drive train. And if any service advisors or warranty people happen to read this know it's just for fun. Really it's for a friend that asked me about it not really a friend because I don't know his name just somebody that I met at a restaurant so I would say he was a stranger.

I don't know - on the F&F movies, they can do over 100 mph in their cars in reverse so I'd imagine a C7 could do at least 150.

88 mph. When this baby hits 88 mph in reverse, you're going to see some serious stuff.

That may be the last thing I want to know about a C7. Are there any racing events where cars only go backwards? Maybe there should be.
Any bets on whether this turns into a 12 page argument over whether A8 or M7s go faster in reverse?

You what's funny Kevin. I was actually thinking about that when this crazy question came to my mind. How fun it would be to watch a race in reverse or even funner be in a race in reverse. Whole new skill level would have to be learned.

I don't believe the transmission will upshift in reverse so you could do damage to the planetary gear set in the transmission go too fast in reverse I would think

Would probably be similar to a demolition derby, or least cars would be in similar condition at race end.

Well, speed is determined by several factors. Reverse gear ratio, axle ratio, tire diameter and max engine RPM. So, this means you must differentiate between base and Z51/GS and Z06. Speeds vary, but somewhere between 49 MPH and 66 MPH.

Good answer Zymurgy. Would it be faster for the auto or manual or the same?

I seem to recall another post in this forum earlier this year about being able to do 55 in reverse...

I think 49 is closer to the top in R. R is geared lower than 1st and the R&T article lists top speed in 1st at 66.

I am curious why this question was even asked, lol.
