I have two sets of wheels and tires with TPSM’S, one set for winter and a set for summer. The guy at Les Schwab told me when I change out my winter tires and wheels for my summer set that I will have to bring my car in, because I guess they have to relearn the sensors on the summer set. It will cost my $22.00 to do it.... Anyone know of this? I always thought they just relearn automatically.....
Per the Owner's Manual: Keep the car stationary for 20 minutes, then drive at a minimum of 12 MPH for at least 10 minutes and the system will auto learn each TPMS sensor.
Thanks guys! I knew something was up! I will try next spring when I change out. I also have been reading some threads on here about it.. Should of done that before I asked..
Yes, that's utter BS. I have two mounted sets of wheel/tires, and swap them twice a year. It only takes a few miles until the sensors connect with the TPMS module automatically.
As a matter of fact, I just put on my winter set last night, and this morning like clock-work, they updated within two miles.
It's the same deal. They auto-learn. When I bought my 2nd set, I simply had the tire shop mount the sensors and tires, brought them home, bolted them on myself, and drove the car. Within a few miles the system recognized all 4.
