Best performance in the hot summer months is the OEM PSS ZP by virtually all accounts. Best performer in cooler weather is the Michelin AS3+ UHP all-season. I have a set of each, and the AS3+ is probably the only tire one would ever need for street use, since it's suitable year-round in both hot and cold temps. Even in many southern climates, it gets cool, and the PSS is only better than the AS3+ on hot pavement when pushed very hard. About the only time anyone would ever feel the hot weather superiority of the PSS is on a race track.
If you want a nice all season check out the Continental DWS06. I have over 18k trouble free miles on mine. They perform well in all weather conditions and also are wearing well.
You would think. When you search anything about tires the amount of minutia that comes back is ridiculous and I have a day job so rifling through meta data is not something I have time for. Your pontification is duly noted though.

I have them on my my 2015 Z51 3LT and had them on my 2008 good price long wear handle good

I have the same car and also daily drive it. The stock tire is all around the clear best option. Having runflats has saved me from being stuck somewhere at least three times. Indispensable technology to have for a daily driver with no spare tire. On the track the car is fast with them and on the street they last about 30,000 spirited street miles. For a daily driver C7, you can't beat the Michelin Pilot Super Sport.

It's my daily driver so I'm curious to know what the options are taking into account economy as well as performance and quality.
What do you guys run?
(I have the stock Z51 wheels P245/35ZR19's infront and P285/30ZR20's in the rear)
Greetings,
I have a 2016 Z51 and here's what I did. Replaced the run-flats with NON run-flats. Michelin 4S's. Went to a 295 in the rear - no problems...a 305 might have fit without issues. Smoother ride...better or as good handling...the 295's look awesome. I carry a small compressor and slime kit in the rear compartment. Also have road side service.
I would stick with the original runflats that come with the car especially in a warm weather climate. I switched to the all season run flats since I’m in NJ and they are fine but they don’t have the buttery smooth feel of the originals and are noisier.

Perhaps for you in FL, but in large sections of this country the PSS is not even close to the best tire for about 6 months a year. The AS3+ also comes as a runflat in OEM C7 sizes for both narrow- and widebody models and is a great tire 12 months a year in areas where it can be very cold and very hot.
I agree that ZPs are a no brainer. Trying to plug/slime and inflate a flat on the shoulder of a busy freeway is a death wish.

I've been maintaining an informal straw poll based on the dozens of tire threads here. With regard to the PSS vs. AS3+ noise and ride quality comparison, most say the AS3+ is softer and quieter. You're one of the few saying otherwise.
My own impression (based upon swapping back and forth twice a year for the last two years) is that in warm weather, noise and ride quality are essentially equivalent. In cool/cold weather, the PSS is noticeably harsher and noisier with significantly less traction. That's no doubt due to the summer compound becoming noticeably less compliant as the temp goes down.

I see the other reviews as well and I'm thinking to myself....are these people driving on the same tires that I am? I daily drive my Z51 vert putting about 1000 mile a month and stand by my comments.
The AS3+ absolutely picks up and tosses dramatically less gravel because the compound isn't as sticky when hot. I live off a gravel road, and it is absolutely unbelievable how my fender liners are essentially silent on the AS3+ vs. the PSS. Even creeping along at under 5 mph produces constant rock spray noises on the PSS.
Moreover, a sticky PSS also seems to be a nail magnet. I've had 2 PSS punctures in the last year vs. none on the AS3+
I went with the bfgoodrich pro comp 2 https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...e+Sport+COMP-2 and really like them and you cant beat the price.. they have a rim protector and look close to the PSS, I have had them down below -15 degrees and worked perfect.. nothing like carving down the road at 35 or 40 degrees out

You're in Southern California and like myself in Eastern SC the best tire is the OEM Michelin! Michelin took the Vette business from Goodyear by designing a tire to match the car. That is why it gets such high "g" lateral acceleration. I seldom have to drive when it's below 40F. Unless Southern CA includes living on Mount Baldy stick to the OEM tires!
Daughter lives in San Antonio Heights, north of Upland on the start of the hill to the mountains. Great place to own a Vette!
I run dws06’s as my cold weather tires and they are excellent. I run firehawk indy500’s as my summer tires and love them as well. Still have the indy’s on the car now and we have had a couple mornings in the low 40’s and have not noticed the harshness of the pss and lack of traction. The indy’s Are a great budget tire.
