Picked up 2015 Z51 for daily driver
Been missing having a Corvette for a more regular driver since I got rid of my 2013 supercharged GS last year and added a 91 ZR-1 (which now has a built 391 cubic inch motor), so I picked this up on Saturday. 2015 Z51 3LT, M7, Mag ride & competition seats with just over 23K miles. Previous (1 owner) put on side skirts, clear bra on front bumper cover and dynomat inside. The car is a blast to drive, and by far the best Vette I've had all around (previous Vettes: 92 M6, 01 Z06, 91 ZR-1, 03 vert Z51 M6, 13 GS M6 (supercharged), and current 91 ZR-1). Love the rev match on the trans, and the competition seats are the closest I've come to the early 90s Vette sport seats (but with heat/cooling). The car handles incredibly, WAY faster turn-in and response than any other Vette I've had. The ride is good (although the 13 GS with mage ride rode a little better in tour mode), and the car is comfortable and definitely has all the creature comforts you expect from a modern car. The power is great! Very impressive and feels way quicker than the 460HP it's rated at, with the engine pulling really strong and revving very quickly. My only real complaint is that it's too quiet, even with the exhaust set to track mode it's pretty quiet in the car (maybe due to dynomat previous owner put in?).

Congrats! It sounds like the car you purchased probably hasn't had the MSRC upgrade, which is $350 and well worth it. It's a simple reflash of the MSRC controller, and I'd recommend having it done at dealership that sells a reasonable number of Corvettes. They've likely done it many times before.

The DSC is even better, and I've had one for almost 2 years. I had a 14 and recently purchased a new 18. I ran the DSC in my 14, which was a dramatic improvement. I took it out before trading and evaluated the new GM calibrations in my 18. They were substantially better than the original OEM MSRC set up. Eventually, I put the DSC into my 18, and it's better still.

Sweet looking ride you picked up! Nothing beats driving a beautiful car everyday except when it snows. I hope you enjoy it every day you can .

I'm in Dallas, TX, so I can literally drive it year round. At worst maybe a couple days out of the year when we get light snow/ice, and on those days I'll just work from home.

The mrc ships i believe with a plastic block or something. I would check to see if the original dealer properly prepared the vehicle. I seem to remember some dealers not properly preparing the vehicle for delivery ...
it might be worth checking into if you think the ride is a bit harsh.
id spend the $350 and have the delaership check for both proper dealer prep on the mrc system and have the mrc update done.
i could be wrong but i do believe early on there were stories of dealers not properly oreping tje vehicles that came with mrc..
you can ask “thecorvettemechamic” on facebook or at one of his many corvette seminars at bowling green, carlisle, bloomington or mid america.
his name is Paul Koerner and he works out of a dealership in middletown ct. his passion for excellence in service on corvettes has earned him a top gm world class tech in the country. I believe it was one in fofty.
i travel from three states away to jave him service all my corvettes over the past twenty hears.
he d be able to give you insight on the prep required for a corvette with MRC.
beautiful car by the way,
i have my c6 z51manual since new and now it has 127k trouble free miles. The cars so good I cant bring myself to sell it just yet.
maybe the rear mid engine c8 might motivate me.
that torch red c7 z51 was a smart buy....and with 23k miles i bet you got a great price too.
Smart buy for sure.
