The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
On a list of things I turned off was passive locking and delayed exit lights. When cleaning the car it kept locking itself which got me worried. Seems like your flirting with disaster with this option. Not a fan of having lights that stay on after I leave the car either. I just keep looking back waiting for them to turn off.
App says it only works with 2015 newer GM vehicles so I can’t use it which is a bummer.

There are quite a few instances that a fob may be locked inside.
If there are two fobs and one leaves, the car will lock (if auto lock is selected). Any source of interference may affect this as well. Phones, fluorescent lights, magnets, security systems, etc...
If the car doesn't see the fob (for whatever reason), the car will lock (if auto lock is selected). Usually this is because your fob is outside your "map". Every Corvette has one. It would be worth your time to find out where your car will and will not recognize your fob. Keep in mind, that as both your car battery and your fob battery age, this "map" will shrink.
If you don't have auto lock enabled, and use the fob to lock the car as you exit, then yes, you will never be locked out, but it is really a shame to not use the current tech to never have to take your fob out of your pocket or purse. Passive use is one of the best things I like, and has been so for some time (since '05).

And because I've got the hidden key, I've never needed it.
