With the coming of the C8 and the beastly ZR1 why not consider the (complex and expensive) option of AWD. Despite Chevy's efforts the
Vette continues to be primarily sold to "mature" guys. And with higher horsepower and/or mid engine configuration why not add the option
of AWD to make it more accessible to those in the age/income range who can afford it?
My son built and races a '91 MR2 (for fun not profit) and the way that little mid engine beast (highly modified engine) can snap in
turns you'd think something larger and more powerful with designs on a six figure price range might consider it for safety reasons as well as the theoretical improvements in handling.
I apologize if this has been a beaten horse but it just came to me (and at my age you take note of such moments of cerebral activity); so
what do you young people think?

There already is a lot of traction and stability control built into the nannies. But I agree, why not.
Personally, I'd rather see a pneumatic suspension that would raise the frame up high enough to navigate through snow.
Having had an Audi S5 before this, I love AWD cars with a rear bias. After two years in the vette I wouldn't mind at all if it had AWD (I know the purists hate me now).

I’m not understanding the mention of the MR2 when you’re asking about AWD??
GM has stopped many projects in the last few weeks to save money and it is highly unlikely that an all wheel drive ME is in the future. I wonder how many Corvette engineers are taking the buy out?
I would not be surprised to see a hybrid down the road with a traditional V8 and a pair of electric motors driving the front wheels. Say 100 hp for each electric motor. Battery technology is improving very rapidly and the electric motors continue to get smaller and lighter. AWD and a total of say 800 - 900 HP. Would be a blast to drive.
