Default A8 Post Tranny Flush

I just went over 500 miles since my tranny flush and filter replacement. Tranny now shifts much smoother. No sign of any shudder but I have been using my Range 100% of the time in an attempt to reduce the likelihood of torque converter damage when operating in V4. I will be interested in learning what GM's new fix is if and when it is released to dealers. I'm wondering if it will be a tranny flush followed by reprogramming the car to prevent V4 mode except when operated in ECO mode? This would likely greatly reduce the number of cars that go into V4 mode since I doubt there are many drivers that use ECO mode. Keeping my fingers crossed that my car continues to perform well. I had a new torque converter installed at about 12K miles. I now have just short of 19K miles.

Yes, I have a Range unit that prevents the car from going into V4. There are numerous threads about this unit.

I had GM do the flush at 40K due to the shudder. I just did it again at 60K miles. The ATF was completely black.
I will be doing it again at 70K miles to see if I can clean up the fluid and get it back to red.
I am very interested to see what the fix is. I am thinking it will be a computer flash which will make no need to use the Range.

If the ATF is burned I would think the transmission internals must be close to toast.

I think it is the media from the TC Clutches breaking down. I never said the fluid was burnt.

That's good news Randall. It gives me hope for mine. And yes sir, I have been and will continue using the Range.

We've been out of town quite awhile (Retirement is great ), and the weather when home hasn't been that good recently. So, it's gonna be a bit before I can get the required 500 miles, but so far so good.
