Default New Corvette, Old Owner.

I forgot all about being on this forum. I bought a 2019 Corvette Stingray Convertible in July. I had to buy the car through a Chevrolet Dealer in Seattle, Washington. They shipped the car up on a barge to Juneau. Man what a car. It has 455hp but plenty of horse power for me. I am an old goat so this will probably be my last Corvette. The weather was exceptional in September so I was able to put over a thousand miles on it. Here in Juneau we have very little road. From one end to the other end may be 60 miles. We are the only State Capital except Honolulu,Hawaii that you can not drive to. Nice to be on this forum. Haven't been on a Corvette Forum in years.

Welcome back! I've got a bunch of gray hair myself so 460 hp is plenty for me as well. C7's are amazing machines aren't they?! Have fun with yours.

Thanks HorsePower Junkie for the quick reply. The Corvette is put away for the winter. Unfortunately.I can only drive it from May to September depending on the weather. I won't drive it in the rain. I am getting too old to clean it all the time if I drove it in crumby weather. You have been on this forum a long time. You probably are able to drive your Corvette year around being in Texas, correct. I still had my 1999 Convertible in 2001. Take care.

Enjoy getting back in a new Corvette. The convertible really enhances the Corvette ownership. Great choice! 👍

At 77 years old, I’ve have owned corvettes in the past, but nothing like my new C7 Stingray. I gave up riding a Harley after 50 some years and needed something to make me feel alive.

Congrats on your Corvette! As someone who grew up in AK, I completely understand. Spent a few early years in Ketchikan & some time living in Craig before we moved to Anchorage. Now I live just south of Seattle so I get to drive my Corvette year-round; I did however put the all-season Michelin on the car for our rainy months but the car washes easy enough.

Age is just a number. Some of the kids today act like old people. I'm 63 and my wife is 59 and we walk 18 holes of golf almost everyday during the Summer. There are guys half our age that ride carts and can't believe we walk. I think owning a Corvette makes us feel younger than we are and that's a very good thing.

Driving your brand spanking new Corvette home from the Chevrolet dealers, never changes in its excitement level. Now 2X here. Regardless of your age. My 1st Corvette 1977:

Thank you for the kind words and fantastic welcome from all of you. Living in Juneau has its draw backs but I couldn't live any where else. Its just that I have to wait about 7 months to drive the Corvette again. Asking about pictures. The only pictures I have of my Vette are ones that were taken at the dealership in Seattle by the sales woman I worked with. I will have to have my Grandson help me. I am no computer wiz far from it. Save The Wave. Cheers To All!

I was driving from my dealer and passed the truck that had my Vette on it. Talk about getting excited. They weren't even expecting my car till the next week.

It's funny when people question us older guys on why we do some things like buying a Corvette. They don't realize that even though we are older we still get really excited about stuff like this. Inside we don't think of ourselves as old farts even though we are.
