I used Power Stop Extreme Carbon Ceramic pads on my 16 Z06. The break dust has all but gone. I
Before the swap I could go on a short Saturday drive of about 150 miles or so and the chrome wheels would be covered. No I can go a couple weeks before I see any dust and just barely at that.

The two most popular choices are Power Stop (cheap price, some have commented it tints their rotors brown, most don't have the issue), and Carbo Tech (other than being significantly more expensive, very few if any bad reviews).

Which specific models? Not tracking but agressive driving.

If you go to the Power Stop website, they have a vehicle selector tool: https://www.powerstop.com/

There are two setups you can choose from - Z23 ("Daily Driver" setup) or Z26 ("Performance" setup) - obviously the Z26 is the setup you should select

IMPORTANT: If you are getting new rotors - pay close attention to what rotors you currently have - either the original setup (that looks like there are holes in the back of the rotor) and the newer design (looks like one solid piece of metal).

In the spirit of providing alternate views, on my C6 I replaced the pads with Autozone Gold Ceramic. They performed fine for my driving (no tracking nor long periods of very hard street driving). I plan to do the same with my C7. Now lets hear from others why this is such a bad idea.

For a high quality low dust aftermarket pad I recommend the Carbotech 1521 pad 100% made in the USA. A low dust pad that is rotor friendly and performs like OEM and last longer. 100% non-corrosive dust will not harm your paint or wheels. This pad also contains NRS technology. Carbotech uses NRS technology on all C4, C5, C6 & C7 front and rear brake pads. Here is a link to explain further what NRS technology is exactly: https://www.nrsbrakes.com/about/ If interested I will be happy to help you out or you can order online here http://ampdautosport.com/brake-pads/corvette/

Carbotech™ Bobcat 1521™ The Carbotech Bobcat 1521™ is our high performance street compound that is our most successful compound. The Bobcat compound is known for its awesome release and modulation, along with unmatched rotor friendliness. Like our AX™ & XP™ line of compounds, Bobcat 1521™ is a Ceramic based friction material offering minimal rotor damage and non-corrosive dust. Bobcat 1521™ offers outstanding performance, even when cold, low dusting and low noise with an excellent initial bite. This compound’s virtually perfect linear torque production provides incredible braking force without ABS intervention. Bobcat 1521™ operating range starts out at ambient and goes up to 900°F. Bobcat 1521™ is suitable for ALL street cars, perfect for your tow vehicle, police cruiser. The Bobcat 1521™ compound has been found to last two-three times longer than OE pads you can purchase at a dealership or national retailer. That’s one of the beauties of Carbotech Ceramic brake compounds. Bobcat 1521™ is NOT recommended for any track use.

For street look at Powerstop Z-26. They also make a Track Day pad.
If you want some real bite on the track look at Raybestos ST-43.

Time to vote again on the weekly brake pad thread. I vote for made in the USA carbotech pads. Tried and tested by me. Work great.

Apparently this forum always argues about brake pads and members here think there are only 2 manufacturing factories that make pads for the Corvette. The debate rages on, pick only A or B. Group think. Zero tolerance for thinking outside the box.

I dont think its zero tolerance for thinking out of the box...but Id rather spend $500 on rotors and pads that the MAJORITY of folks have used and had great results with. To me, going with an "unpopular" brand isn't a bad thing, its just a risk, because you could spend the same $500 and be the one person who tried a product and it didn't get you the results you wanted...on the flip side it could be an amazing product.

To me - Id rather follow the crowd of folks who know more about cars, parts, etc than I do - so I get it right the first time (meaning no risk)... That's why I chose to go with a full Power Stop setup, cause the majority here, and almost everyone in my club has been raving about them. I never said they were better, but to me they received the most praise...

Just my personally observation...worth .02 cents!

Is the new design not compatible with a C7 that came with the old design? I would think that one would want to install the new design on, if they can.

Great question...supposedly you have to go with the same design - not sure if its the dimensions, bolt pattern or depth of the rotors, but they are definitely different. I called Power Stop (twice) just to confirm with different reps - and they both said they were different and that I needed to stay with the same design...

Maybe someone with more technical knowledge can provide a better reason why... I will say this - the Power Stop rotors I got have the holes in them, just like my old (original design) rotors...

I call BS. If the rotor was different in ANY dimension it wouldn't fit the hub or caliper. Sounds like a CYA type statement from Power Stop. The rotors either fit or they don't. Rotors generally last thru multiple pad changes. Unless they have heavy deposits or are below the minimum thickness there is no reason to change them. When switching pad compounds you'll need to bed in the new pads. If your not tracking the car just about any name brand pads will perform fine.

Im in the same boat. Just looking to replace the old style, Z51 stock rotors. The stock Brembo pads, dust, so bad, its crazy to even drive on the street. I drive 60 miles, and it looks like I haven't washed the wheels in 2 months. Im looking for the same. Best rotor/ pad combo without too much dust. I'll have to admit, the brembo pads really stop the car, and Im sure they have saved my life on more than one occasion. So, I hope to find something that performs almost as well.

Like I said, Im not a mechanic or have any expertise to offer except my conversation with Power Stop... It is possible that there are different dimensions inside the hub area from one year to the next or even a slight bolt spacing/measurement difference as well - but again I dont know...(not the actual diameter of the rotor).

If you want to buy the ones that Power Stop DOESN'T suggest - then by all means go ahead - for me Ill buy which ones they told me work for my car...
