Some need to learn to read their owners manuals.....the summer tires have reduced traction under 40F and can crack under 20F. I just picked my GS a month ago. The dealer pointed this out and suggested using 25F as the cutoff to be safe and due to rumors and misnomers I confirmed thus via my GM published manual. I find so many never open that book....

This ^^^
It was 2C (36F) when I picked up my Z06 and everything was fine. I didn't drive it hard and got it home without any drama. The car did skip a bit during tight turning at low speed (parking and pulling out of parking) but otherwise no issues.
Sorry for the delay in posting. I got home late and my family wanted to talk since i hadn't seen them for while and the new car didn't help. haha. Then saturday was a all day family Thanksgiving celebration with a bridal shower/hang out with the groom-to-be on sunday. That was followed up by a 4 hour drive home that ended around 7pm, at which point i had no food for dinner or the week for work. It was a very long and tiring weekend.
That means I have not had a chance to take pictures and it rained while I was driving home so the car is dirty now. I will try to post a few pictures in the next couple of days. I want to wash it so it actually looks nice.
Weather was decent. Never got below 35 at night and during the day while I was driving it was about 50 or higher. So I was not worried about cracking or loss of traction from the temperature. I wasn't sure how the trackion was in wet conditions, so i didn't corner hard. Got home without issues.
It have already enjoyed driving it. And have experienced what multiple people post about on here regularly.....I had an SUV and early 2000s impala pull up next too me and rev their engines. Granted the SUV was just playing around and having fun. He was laughing the whole time, so once I figured it out, I had fun with the guy. But the impala....was totally serious. lol.
Hopefully this will hold you over until I can take some good photos. I ran outside and snapped this. It's dark but hopefully you get the idea.
2 different C7s - 5 years apart - and I had ZERO issues driving on the OEM non-Cup2 tires in temps as low as 38.......
I have driven my C7 a lot in colder temps, I think the lowest I have seen is around 25F. It's honestly not as bad as people make it out to be (just don't go full throttle in 1st, 2nd or 3rd and you'll be fine), and the tires won't instantly crack at that temperature either. You'd need the car to be sitting outside a long time in those kind of temps before they'd crack, but if you start out in a warm garage and go for a spin in colder weather (like I do all winter long) it's not an issue.

I figured as much. I was going to be shocked if the temperature below 40 would instantly cause the tires started cracking. I figured it had to be really cold and the sudden jump in temp when you started using them, and bumping them in the imperfections of the roads, would be the real reason for them to crack.

I believe that's exactly how it happens. From what I understand a bunch of new C7s were sitting outside of the Bowling Green plant a few years ago in some extremely cold weather and when they loaded them on the truck a lot of them got cracked tires from all the bouncing around they did on the transport trucks.
