Default Borla X-pipes discontinued?

I ordered Borla x pipes # 60547 this morning from amazon which used truck pro to fill the order. I received a call from truck pro saying red flags were coming up concerning this product had been discontinued because the car would no longer be street leagal also could throw codes because of the rear cat deletes. I called Borla and they confirmed it’s no longer available but would not tell me why. Has anyone had any issues with codes popping up and is there anything to the non street legal deal? By the way this would be for a 2019 grand sport. Thx

No issues with my 2017 GS, but the x pipe has only been on for a few months,

I was just getting ready to order the 60547 from Summit and it showed it is on back order. Checked Borla's website and it said this has been discontinued. See link here: https://www.borla.com/products/c7_co...rt__60547.html I'm going to order quickly from someone else before stock is gone.

This makes no sense. The pipe is considered for off road use only and tagged as that. Lots of us use it though. The rear cats aren’t monitored so no codes. I have heard they won’t ship to California though.

I can’t speak with any certainty but I’m guessing this is along the lines of Harley getting their wrist slapped back in 2016 for selling Screaming Eagle Pro Super Tuners for their bikes. Seems the EPA wasn’t too happy with them putting straight pipes on bikes (less cat) and race tuning bikes for their customers. Maybe Borla decided that selling an x pipe that eliminates cats wasn’t worth the risk.
‘Just glad I got my bikes before the ban!

Wow. Glad I got mine a couple months ago. No codes and it sounds great especially when matched with ARM during downshifts.

I just ordered the 60547 from a forum vendor. Free shipping, no tax, and a promo code for a great price.

The thing that worries me most is popping codes and the engine light coming on. I talked with a vender and an installer from this forum and he said some cars do have the engine light and codes pop and you have to buy a tuner to get it to go away.

I have put mine on 3 years ago myself, never any issues at all. Not many do have issues, if its anything at all its a minor exhaust leak that is easily corrected. I have never heard of a install that caused CEL that had to be fixed by a tune.

Would you still put this part numbered part on with long tubes? Or is it a totally different set up?

I don't see how it could possibly throw a code since the x-pipe is down stream of the rear O2 sensors. Hell, I'm running long tube headers + high flow catted x-pipe and mine hasn't thrown any codes and still running stock tune. I've been running the setup for a couple years now.

There is nothing changing that would cause a code. In this instance someone may have done headers at the time. This would be an issue. Otherwise this pipe is a simple remove and replace. Sounds amazing and saves a little weight as well.

This will not throw a CEL. Rear cats are not monitored. Had one installed on my Z51 along with and afe an no light. Will purchase one for my new ZO6

This will not work with long tubes as it is made to mount to the stock header. However, many people on the forum use this x-pipe along with the ARH mid length header (with cats) all without a tune. I am planning on going that direction myself.

Mine has been on for 2 years and no CEL.. The only time you would get a CEL when you change out the front CAT's as they are monitored..
