Default How do you like the sound of your C7 with an X-pipe only?

My 18 z06 2lz auto makes more power than I will ever need or use. I didn't want any warranty issues so im just having a corsa x pipe installed on the car. Not even changing the air filter since im only after better sound. What kind of a difference did you guys notice if you always leave your engine sound management in track mode but added the x pipe?

I just installed the Borla X Pipe and I am using a M2W switch also as even in track mode the valves will close ….

I love the sound , it is way louder than you think but just shy of drone and if I get tired of it , I just use the buttons on my sun visor to close the NPP mufflers

I always thought on a z06 with the NPP they never close when you are in track mode for engine sound management.

Pull the fuse , at part throttle ,around 3,000 RPM they still close , with the fuse out you will hear what I am talking about ...

They do still close at certain (drone avoidance) RPM ranges, even in track.

I have a 15 Stingray A8, I pulled fuse 42, installed the range afm disabler, and installed the borla x-pipe. Sounds a lot better then it did, I am happy with it, but it's not a huge night and day difference.

I have the Borla with my NPP set to Track mode always and love the difference. Not obnoxious at all but obviously better at idle and half-or-better throttle.

Iam so glad I bought the borla x pipe on my GS. The crackles and pops on decal and it definitely sounds better at full throttle! I constantly am always having the urge to wind it up just to hear that sound and it just brightens my mood.

Default X pipe

I installed my x pipe a while back. It definitely woke the sound up. My only complaint was that it sounded coarse. Drone was never an issue but it almost sounded like I had just taken off my mufflers....coarse. A month ago I installed Billy Boat Fusions. I will say it is a bit louder again but definitely mellower and deeper and sounds great. Going up through the shifts it sounds great and letting off the gas and letting it back down it has a great rumble to it. The drone is no more than the minimal drone I had before. These exhausts were definitely a welcomed addition to the X pipe.

For those considering an X-pipe you'd better hurry up - the EPA has halted Borla and probably the rest from making them. So whatever inventory is out there is all there is.

So in the future even if you buy a full system exhaust you cant get a X Pipe or H pipe with it?

If they're stopping them from producing X-Pipes it wouldn't surprise me if they're stopping full exhausts, too. Since the EPA's goal is to stop people removing cats.

I would imagine Borla will still continue making #60548 X-pipe which has the secondary cats. But most of us bought or wanted #60547 (secondary cats eliminated).

Does #60547 throw an engine code?

I have Corsa X pipe, pulled the fuse and keep afm delete range device in. Still not loud enough. I was disappointed at the sound difference ( almost the same ) but of course glad I installed it.

No code , the rear pup cats are not monitored so you will not see a code if you remove them

Just for clarity this pipe does not come with secondary cats , you have to cut your cats off of your x pipe and them mount them to this pipe .

Not sure why anyone would swap out the original pipe for this one as there is no reason to .....

I have the Borla , and a MTW switch and the range device and there is a marked increase in the amount of sound that comes out of the pipes , especially at wide open throttle .. put your fuse back in and listen to the NPP close above 2500 rpm

are you sure your NPP are open ?

Any louder and mine would have boarderline drone

Dave
