Long time lurker, first time poster and first time owner! Ordered my 2019 GS yesterday...cant wait for her to come in! Love this place and just glad to be 'one of the lucky guys'
Make sure you take advantage of the Ron Fellows Corvette Owners Performance Driving School after you take delivery. I was in the school 10-11 Dec, and it was AWESOME. I do not ever plan to track my Stingray, so I was a bit reluctant to sign up for the school - what a mistake that would have been! I learned SO MUCH about my car that I did not pick up by reading the manual twice. The wet pavement drills they put you through give you a real appreciation for how well the ABS braking system works and how Weather mode will really keep you out of trouble in the worst conditions. The time you spend on the track is the cherry on top - all of us got significantly better over the two day course - even those of us like me who were a bit apprehensive about doing 120mph on the track straightaways and whipping through the turns. It is a real confidence builder, and it is something you do not want to pass up!!!
I am a long-time CF member, but a newcomer to the C7 forums. I can tell you that the time between ordering and receiving your new GS will be the longest 3 months of your life!!
We ordered on 9/13, the Grand Sport was built on 10/15 and we took delivery on 11/17. We have owned at least one of every generation, each generation getting better than the previous, but about the C7 I can only say, "WOW" !!
Hoping for some good weather - okay, I would accept mediocre weather - so I can get the 500 mile break-in done and start enjoying this magnificent beast.
Corvette Owners School at Spring Mountain in March!
