Default Seat warmer function question

Hi Guys, I've got the competition seats in my C7. With the seat warmer on full it takes about 30 minutes to even tell it's on. How does that compaire with everybody else. The dealer just looks at me and says it's fine. It's almost useless. C6 seat warmers were great...

What kind of experience is everyone else having.

I have comp seats as well, the heat is noticeable in minutes. I would go sit in another car at the dealer if you can to compare.

As a matter of fact mine is at the dealer right now for the same thing along with the lumbar support not holding air. I'll update once I hear from them

Our C7 Touring seats don't get as warm as our Toyotas, and warm a little slower, but certainly noticeable within 5 minutes.

I agree as my Tacoma heated seats on high will fry your *** in a minute. I've found heated seats in other vehicles fairly useless. By the time they get warm your heater is up to temp and heat from seats is not really needed.

I've got the GT seats in my car, and the heaters are mediocre at best. The seats in my wife's Mazda are better, but hardly great. Neither are anywhere near as good as the seats I had in my Audi. Those were amazing. Even on the low settings, they put both cars to shame. I never once turned them up to 10.

The heat in my Competition seats is detected in minutes. I have to say comparing them to my Cadillac or Audi they do take a little longer to come up to full temperature, and usually need to be lowered after about 20-30 minutes.

This is been an ongoing thing since the first C7's came out (if you do a search, you'll see many threads about it and speculation it was due to the ventilation feature of the new seats). I personally noticed that my old C6 seats heated up rather quickly but my '14 seats took forever to be even NOTICEABLY warm.

I must say my new '19 GS's seats do seem to warm up faster than did the '14's and are absolutely noticeable now

Does anybody know the fix or the difference in the warmers/seats in the 19's.

"it depends"

What are you wearing when you turn them on, how many layers, thin jeans, thick jeans, long coats, how cold outside??? All these can determine how fast it heats up...

If it is 40 degrees out and you have an old pair of jeans you will "feel" the heat faster and hotter... If it is 10 degrees out, you are wearing a thick pair of jeans and a heavy coat it can take 30 minutes before you "feel" the seat heaters...

In comparison to my Land Rover Discovery 4 the C7 seat warmer has very bad function.

It takes more than 10 minutes until you can feel a little bit.

In my Land Rover the seats are after 2 minutes very warm, after 5 minutes I have to reduce from 3 to 2, otherwise the seats are too hot.

In my C7 I can drive for hours and the seats are only hadwarm - very poor.

My GS is the opposite from my Wife's Maxima SE.....her heated seats get hot quick, my C7 seats are slow to heat up. Her's are slow to cool and mine are quick to cool off. I'm okay with that though since I drive mine more in the hotter months than the cool months.....lol

I've got a little methodology going. I bought a surface temp reader. A five minutes they are the same temp as when they were turned on.

My seats seem to take a while, several minutes to feel the slightest warmth the heated seats in the wifes Enclave cook the buns very quickly. Oh well never had heated seats in my other Vettes so I will live with it

I have a Stingray 2LT and the seat heaters do get warm, but not nearly as warm as the heated seats in my '15 Impala. But is is noticable and warms up in a reasonable period of time.

They're pretty lame. In the past I had five Saabs and their bun warmers really worked! Leave it to the Swedes to know how to keep critical body parts warm.

The C7 seats are not going to get real hot like most Car, SUV or Truck seats.
C7 seat bottoms are only 8 inches thick, while Car, SUV or Truck seat bottoms are 13 inches thick or more.
There's only so much room in the C7 seat bottom, and it's even more crowded now with both the ventilated and heating elements.
Yes it takes a while for the C7 seats to get hot, or even warm, but IMO how hot do we need the seat to be ?
I've almost never used the heated seats until lately with winter weather temperatures and clear roads.
I timed how long it took to notice any heat, and after 3-5 minutes they're warm, then I shut them off.
Just my experience for what it worth

My 19 Grand Sport with competition seats is so slow to heat up it takes 20 minutes before I even realize they are on.

My 06 GMC truck, the heated seats had to be turned from 3 to 2 in 5 minutes or less, then down to 1 after 15 or so minutes. My wife's Range Rover Evoque is about the same as the old GMC truck. My 18 Grand Sport takes about 5 minutes to notice the heat, then 15 to turn down to 2, and that is as low as I have ever had it. Don't use the function often as I do not drive it below 40 degrees. It is very slightly better than the 14 Stingray was, both are 3LT cars.
