My adult son collects/builds many car legos. The large size Porsche is pretty good-the ZR1 not so much. It seems they could have done a lot better with the front end using additional material. He's not even sure if the wants to get this one...

Agreed. This one looks pretty rough. Granted the cost between this and the Chiron or GT3 is huge, this could have been executed better.

Hardly their best, by any means! My granddaughter just finished the superb Lego Voltron she got for Christmas, so I'm biased I suppose.

"...when did Legos start costing so damn much?" You, my friend haven't looked at any Legos for a while... today $50 is cheap, believe me!!!

On the other-hand there is their recently shown full-size Bugatti that was estimated to cost them $100K to build. So, I guess it is all perspective.

Tell me about it. Bought my fiancée a Harry Potter set for $400. It’s pretty sweet though.*

I'm surprised GM even signed off on the Lego ZR1 given the poor representation of the real car it provides. It's plain wrong on so many levels...not sure if they rushed it or what but it's probably their weakest attempt at producing one that's supposed to be modeled after a real car. Some of the Lego fanatics will probably come up with additional pieces that can be added to improve the appearance. My son has shared with me some pics that builders have done and they are amazing.

I think this Z06 version is better looking, to be honest. Plus, a cooler color!

It's nothing new to "grown-up" Lego aficionados.
