Default Question on OBD plug

Im just curious, did GM install a cover on the On Board Diagnostic plug that is mounted on the left side under the drivers dash? I have a 2017 GS
If not, anyone know of a supplier that offers one?

Thanks

Correct, none on my 14 and none on my 18. Hopefully, the interior of one's car is protected from the elements and moisture, making a cover completely unnecessary.

No, no cover. Just installed a TopDownTech module in it last night, was not covered.

I have never seen an OBD connector that had a cover. A cover would be problematic given the location most of them are in. Imagine trying to get the cover off and back on when the connector is under the IP. Most would be coverless shortly after the first time the owner tried accessing the port.

I see OBDII connector covers less and less as the years go by. I think I might have a few somewhere in my toolbox. Not sure why you would want one.

Nope, but here is a functional "cover" that is about as small as you'll find for a cover. It's called "Window Valet."
It allows you to open (and close) your windows with your FOB!

Takes very little power. The company President responded to my question about current draw and stated they work hard to keep it at a minimum and it's 0.05 milliamps. Since the car draws ~35 milliamps when stopped, 0.05 is a none issue! He also said when the car's bus activity stops, it's zero. So only draws that small amperage mostly when you push a FOB Lock or Unlock button (three fast pushes.)

However you must check and be sure it matches the specific year Vette.
