Im about to finalise my Z order, and im about to get the 3LZ with microfiber suede insert. I LOVE how it look, however, im afraid that it will be hard to keep clean!
Since the top will be off most of the time, is it gonna be an issue?? Im looking for inputs from folks that had suede for few years now. Any regrets? Does it wear out faster?
I have it in my 2008 Cobalt SS and it looks just as good as the day I picked it up. I now have it in my Corvette, but only have a few hundred miles, so I can't comment on how well it holds up. I also loved the look and based on how well it held up in my Cobalt, it was a no brainer option for me to get on the Corvette. Good luck!
Damp cloth to wipe it down every so often... massage the shifter with the damp cloth to keep the olis in your hand from matting it down... wife gave me a micro suede brush - it makes things stand up pretty well... it's simple to keep nice - and I'm not a car polisher... so if I can do it - it's GOT to be simple!
Nice to read that!! its helping me make my mind a lot!! Trying to justify the cost of the 3LZ over 2LZ!! But it look so damn fine!! Gives the vette an exotic looks IMO.
In the grand scheme of things you are talking a few thousand bucks more, on a car that will ring in near the 100K mark, so I'd just go for it and not think twice. My buddy has the 2LT and while it is very nice, I'm so glad I have the 3LT in mine.

You need to treat it as a delicate fabric. When you clean it, vacuum with an attachment with soft bristles. To clean, purchase "Woolite for delicate fabrics". Buy yourself a small "waffle-style' white towel 12"X12" that most online detailing stores will carry. This towel will help wash away the grime that imbeds in the microfiber as time goes on. Mix the Woolite in with warm warm in a small plastic pail. Moisten the waffle towel with the Woolite and ring out excessive water. Use the towel to gently scrub the microfiber surfaces you want to clean. Wipe off the excess water with a clean dry microfiber towel. Your microfiber surface should produce a very clean surface if you follow these directions. When the microfiber finally dries, now use another clean soft dry microfiber towel and comb the grain of the cleaned surface by gently rubbing your microfiber towel across the grain of the microfiber surface you cleaned. This will comb the suface to achieve the final desired grain you want. This instruction will give you a clean surface that looks as good as new.
It's been a while since I ordered mine so I'm going by memory. I was considering the suede interior but decided not to. My S5 had the alcantara interior and I loved it but I wanted a change
I recall that getting the 3LZ over the 2LZ was not good value because many of the Nappa leather pieces your paying for in the 3LZ is now covered in suede. Just something to think about. I could be wrong.
Please guys don't make this into one of those 1/2/3LT debates. I was just making a point re: suede
The suede on my 3LT Premier Edition looks like new today. The car is a 2014 and has 25k miles on the clock. I love the feel and look of the seats. (sorry for the crappy photo - It looks better in person than this photo.

Same here with 22K on it. I'm the second owner so not sure how the first owner cleaned it but it looks great. Feels better then leather too, doesn't get hot or cold, plus you don't slide all over the place.
on auto fabrics and carpets for years. On the suede I spray it on a microfiber, but not directly to avoid soaking the fabric, then wipe it off gently. The suede turns darker due to being slightly damp then dries back to its normal color. Suede tends to get matted, so another pass using a 2nd dry microfiber might be needed to brush it out.

2017 Z51 but with the suede option on some parts, now at 30k miles:
Seats- Holding up great. Easy to clean. Comfortable and keeps my *** in place around corners.
Steering wheel- Feels like I'm fondling a small rodent while driving, but got used to it.
A8 shifter and sun visors- who cares?
I would like to avoid the complete 3LT package because of all the dash delamination issues posted here and previously in the C6 also.
So I have a 2018 stingray 3lt with the sueded option. I bought it slightly used and thought all corvette had this interior. I love it. Our has carbon fiber dash also on steering wheel. Now a non 3lt with out sueded interior looks so plane to me. I feel the steering wheel is not going to look so well after a couple of years
2014 convertible with competition seats and suede inserts. Also suede steering wheel, shifter (auto), pillars, and visors. 55,300 miles and all looks new except steering wheel shows very slight matting which will likely be brought back to new looking when I finally get around to cleaning it for the first time. I’ve been told that diluted dish detergent and microfiber cloths followed by water and microfiber cloth rinse works well. I try to make sure my hands are clean before getting in the car so I don’t transfer oils from my hand to the steering wheel and gear shifter.
