For Christmas, my son gave me this beautiful 1:18 C7R die cast model!
I am very impressed with the attention to detail.
Currently on "display" in our house!
We have a 2017 Z06, and last May I took my 20-year-old son to Mid-Ohio for the first time to watch the IMSA race (especially the Corvette Racing Team). He loved it, and wants to go back this year.
His gift of this die cast model shows that I have found yet another supporter of Corvette Racing! Go team!

Love the C7R and thinking of getting one. I have the Auto Art Grand Sport that matches my car and like it a lot. Only issue is that it has clear Z06 tail lights instead of red like the GS should have.

I assume what you have is a model by AutoArt? I have several AutoArt C7R's as well and they are now resin rather than die cast metal. The fit/finish is excellent however other than the doors nothing opens and the chassis is a flat piece of plastic with absolutely NO detail. This is a far cry from the earlier C6/C5 race models that were metal and had opening hoods/doors plus chassis detail-for a smaller price tag. The move towards the resin is disappointing to myself and others as underhood and chassis detail is non-existent. I also have the new ZR1 by Top Speed and nothing opens on these. For $170+ I expect more. The Maisto's are definitely lacking some of the details, but for 1/4 the price or less are a better value in my opinion. I have about 300 diecast Corvettes in various scales by different manufacturers and most comments I read/hear from other collectors are negative when it comes to the change to sealed resin bodies.

Totally agree; my sons (and even my wife!) have bought me 'special' car related gifts over the years. She sometimes complains about all the models but yet contributes to the cause. Just too bad the resin replicas have started to take over many of the lines and so much detail is being lost. First this and now Camaros going to Bloomington Gold-it's getting crazy out there...

That was a nice gift. The diecast cars are hard to find. Not to hi Jack the thread but I’m been looking for a C7 Z06 diecast car in black since my car is that color and have not been able to come across one. Maybe this year at Carlise they will have one. It’s funny how you find deals a couple of years ago when I had my C5 Z06 it was Silver. I could not find one and then on EBay they were going for $199.00 in Silver. So my wife and I were at the Bloomsburg fair which is one of the biggest fairs in the world. They have all kinds of stuff to buy and I come across Silver C5 Z06 diecast car for $25.00. Well I nabbed that up. I thought I post this since these cars are hard to come buy.
