Does the 2019 Base A8 have AFM still?
Just Bought a 19 base A8 and notice the EPA mileage has been lowered especially the Hwy compared to the 15 A8 I had. My new 19 has a build date of 10/18.

My build date was 11/1. It has it. Get the Range. Interesting the EPA mileage went down. Wonder why that is. Good catch.

It seems odd that they would change the rating, that sometimes happens if they change the testing methods, or if in the real world they've found a ton of people unable to meet that rating. But in the case of the C7 it is extremely easy to beat the EPA highway rating by a considerable margin.

I don't think I've come anywhere near their city mileage. Sticker is something like 16 and I don't think its gone over 12. I drive it on weekends and I think I put more gas into it than my daily driver.
Highway is another story. I've gotten over 30 highway mileage and that was just in Touring mode.

The manuals no longer have AFM valves, but yeah it will still work in eco mode (the mode that has never been seen on my car LOL)...

I believe all Gen V V8's except the LT5 and manual transmission ZL1 / LT4 have AFM lifters. I just used a Hypertech tuner to disable my AFM on my L86 Yukon, but in the Corvette you just don't run it in the stupid Eco mode and AFM is disabled for you in relative the same way. I'd love to pull my cylinder heads and physically omit all of those AFM lifters, have them CNC ported, and then put back together with PSI beehive valve springs and Johnson lifters. Of course, if I increased the flows in the heads past .550 lift I'd want a better cam in there with valvetrain friendly lobes to take full advantage of those new cylinder head flows.

I have new 2017 stingray coupe 460 HP. This fall drove from Cincinnati to Washington DC, 520 miles Via I-71, 70, 79, 68, 81 and 66. I set it on eco and stealth modes. Got 29.5 MPG and 28.8 on the return trip. I thought it was amazing. - John West

M7s still do have AFM, but like all earlier years it only works in Eco mode. In the A8 it works in all modes in D. You can avoid it by going to manual paddle shift mode.
