What happened here?
Link takes you to part of a compilation of performance car wipeouts. Someone in a 'Vette apparently making a showoff video, going down a straight road - no obstacles in the road then suddenly veers off the road. Is this due to wheelspin? Link should take you to the specific spot at about 6:32.
Link doesn't seem to work correctly. Just go to 6:32

Cliff notes:
Old footage.
Z06 turns nannies off and stomps on it, never apparently letting up on the gas when rear end breaks loose.
Bam.

Melting Slicks
Guys - look at the video at 2:54 - that crash is horrible and what it did to all those by-standers - but go watch again how this guy in blue had everyone around him tossed to the ground...watch it again slowly - talk about lucky...

Safety Car
Rule #1 - leave the nanny ON. There is NO way you are faster then the computer when it comes to reaction time or the tiny corrections required to maintain car control at the limits. Don't try to be a hero. I instruct at HPDE events and trust me the computer knows what it is doing. Generally if the nanny has to step in its because YOU did something wrong, IE: too much throttle, wrong steering angle, etc.
Great video and data on this:

This is a professional driver with years of experience and the computer clearly manages things very well. Sliding the car around looks cool but its SLOWER.

More like a combo of both. This morons don't understand that even high end sports cars have limits and if you exceed them there's a price to pay, add some whiskey throttle and you have yourself a disaster.
