Default Armrest buzz

Lately I've noticed a buzzing/vibration sound coming from the passenger side armrest area on my 2017 1LT coupe, especially when idling. When I press the armrest the buzzing stops. The noise isn't always present, just often enough to make it annoying. I've checked the door and can't find anything to tighten or adjust. Anyone else have this problem? I would appreciate any suggestion about how to fix it.

I know this sounds very strange, but is the radio on & a bit loud. Many here (me included) have had problems with bass in music causing a serious buzz from door speakers. Even a TSB on it. It would be more noticeable while idling (quieter) inside the car.

That sounds like a reasonable explanation.

Just a quick side note. The bass (distortion/buzzing) can only be HEARD while standing outside the car. Put on something with really deep bass, turn up loud to hear what will sound like a bunch of angry bees are inside the door panel. It does also distort the music while inside the car but I’m mostly deaf from 24 yrs. of being on an aircrew in AF & don’t notice that.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately the buzzing sound occurs whether the radio is on or not. When I press the armrest in the buzzing stops but resumes when I let go. Is it possible to somehow tighten the armrest to stop the vibration?

Did a quick google search but came up empty. I bet you have to remove the entire side door panel. I have done this (remove door panel) & pretty easy with the plastic tools used for removing any panel. I believe the removal screws are on backside of armrest. Can be done with other tools like screwdrivers but big chance you will scratch the plastic panels or door paint. Plastic tools can be found at auto parts stores or even hardware stores. Usually about $15. PS; If I remember right, there are 2/3 screws that have to be removed (hidden by covers, like the door lock switch cover). I’m sure someone else will chime in with info. Try using Thread search at top of page. Good luck!
