Default What does tire damage look like?

I have read a number of posts about driving in colder temperature with summer tires. I had an on-line chat with Michelin and they said it could result in tread cracking. Has anyone seen this condition? What exactly does it look like. (I know, besides cracks in the tread.) How likely is this to occur when driving in, say, 35 degree weather? I want to drive my car as often as possible, but I don't want to wreck my tires either. Thanks

Simple, just get the all-season tires and not worry about it.
