Just signed up for Spring Mountain
Just signed up for the Corvette Owner's School, 2/28-3/1. I'm looking for tips/info which will make it an even better experience. I'm driving in from San Diego.

I would suggest booking the condo for the night before if you are staying there. Helps a lot since the class starts early and there is some road construction project happening between them and Las Vegas. Not sure if it will still be going on when you go but the condos there are excellent. Every single person that I dealt with there is super nice and very knowledgeable (from the office staff to the instructors). Their facility is like Disney for Corvette lovers. I got there early the night before and just watched a level 2 class for hours. Was awesome! You are going to love it. Oh and make sure to stay hydrated (they will remind you). Winter is the worst since it doesn't feel like you need to drink but you will feel much better at the end of the day if you do. The number one thing is just to have fun.

Wow, good info! I thought the condo was included. I guess I'll give them a call.

They are pretty organized and send out an email with all the details. Also they mail out a letter. The night before is normally not included and needs to be booked separately.

It's included for the night between the two days of classes. As Demnos stated, you really should stay there the night before the first class as well. Sometimes they include the second night during the less desirable dates.

Two-day school includes 1 night in their condos. Classes start early so if you want to start fresh get there the day before classes begin and stay someplace the night before and then stay at SM condo the night after your first class day. Dinners were good at the winery. Try to eschew alcohol till after your last day and class. Although they furnish helmets, I'd take my own if I were driving in. Driving shoes are a good idea too .If you don't have far to drive to SD you could make it home and sleep in your own bed but you will be tired.

Spring Mountain is an excellent experience I would highly recommend, very well organized with a great group of instructors.
It was one of the reasons that swayed me to buy a new Corvette vs used.
In hindsight, I might have reviewed videos of the track prior to arriving. But you will have it memorized by the second day.
Instant instructor feedback through the in car speaker.
Bring your SD card and record every track exercise / session.
The exercises will teach you about the capabilities of the car and how you can handle emergency situations on the road.
The winery was good for dinner, we went 2 nights.
I got the bug and want to go back to Spring Mountain.
Have fun!

I am booked for Feb 4 and 5 for the class. Have a condo the night of the 3rd and 4th. This will be my second time taking the class. Took it when I bought my 14 Z51, and booked the extra 3rd day that time. They no longer offer that.
It is a very good class, I loved it the first time, and I am sure I will again, will be in a grand sport 7 speed this time.

I drive a Grand Sport A8, but tthey called yesterday, told me they only have M7 for my weekend. BONUS!!!! I like the auto for most stuff, but it will be fun with a manual on the track.

The staff called me shortly after I posted this. They were very organized, let me know what to expect. As stated above, one night is covered, and they offered the night prior for an extra charge of $110.

As mentioned, be sure to bring an SD card and use it to record track time and the handling exercises. The normal curriculum starts using the PDR for track time, after the handling exercises are completed, but having the exercises recorded is worthwhile, as they're like drinking from a fire hose.
Staying the night before is well worth the money for the rest you'll get and not getting stuck or slowed down enroute (I-15 can be an unpredictable nightmare).
If you like wine and good food, I highly recommend Symphony's restaurant at the Pahrump valley winery... Check their website for the menu and Yelp for reviews... GREAT food and wine at a really decent price
It's on the short list of the best things I've ever done with a car! If you don't drive away with an ear to ear grin, you need to buy a Prius!

If you’re driving there instead of flying, there are several “undulations” on the 127 that can launch your car off the pavement or do some serious damage to your front bumper/splitter at speeds exceeding 140mph.
And you WILL be tempted to do 140.

Always 5 under. You never know how many hooligans are out there, with their rock n roll and turbos and whatnot.
