Stingray?

last night a friend asked me when the name Stingray appeared? I thought it was between 1963-77? But it appeared
later in the C7’s.
Was this just a nameplate or was their a package?

C4 of Year Finalist (performance mods) 2019

It was used on concept cars before the midyears came out, but official production of the Sting Ray was 1963 and midyears afterwards. The Sharks used a one word Stingray description from 68-76(?) I believe.

The 2014-current base model is a Stingray (i.e., not GS/Z06/ZR1)

The name "Stingray" depicts a model name, nothing more.
The 63 was the first production Vette to carry that name.
It was not used on the C-4s-C-6s.
