C7 for teenage daughter

It's not as uncommon as you think especially in South Florida, just go to the Sunoco off US27 by Stirling rd on a Wednesday night if you want to see just how many high hp cars are running around with high school kids in them, from C7 Z06s with heads/cam/drag radials as a daily, to a brand new C63s black edition.

This is the point that I was trying to make earlier!!!!

Congratulations!! Im so glad you didnt take the advice from majority of these debbie downers. Although some gave valid advice, a lot of them are seriously on some jealousy rant. Enjoy the car with your daughter and I hope one day i can share this experience with my own.

You people have to realize that even though these kids that are driving around in high powered sports cars only have a chance of one in a thousand of ending up in a fatal or a life crippling event. What the hell! Those are pretty good odds. Have fun. Nobody will no the difference in hundred years. They'll all be dead anyway and haven't had any thrill or fun. THE PROBLEM HERE IS THAT THEY COULD TAKE OUT INNOCENT BYSTANDERS WITH THEM!

Worked for me
When I was 18 I got my first Corvette. It was a 2 year old 63 split window with the 340 HP 4 speed. I ran it for all it was worth. I raced it on the track and the street. 53 years later and several Corvettes since I am still alive and well. It taught me how to drive fast and contributed to a very successful racing career. I have won over 150 races including 4 NASCAR weekly racing championships at Midwest high banked paved tracks. So, as to weather to buy a teenager a new Corvette, I'd say it depends on the kid. Some will benefit and some will kill themselves. I still have a Corvette and I am proud to say I have never wrecked one.

Obviously not my kiddo but I think it's a really dangerous and bad idea. These cars are so capable it's ridiculous and temptation/peer pressure at that age is a huge factor no matter how well behaved your kid is. 17 years old is 17 years old. We were all there once. Not to mention things like she would become an easy target for car jacking, added male attention of all ages and more. I would be a nervous wreck.

I have an 18 year old nephew I'd like her to meet. He's got a Agusta F4 RR bike and likes (fast) girls with fast cars. What a couple they would make...at least for a little while.
