Default 2016 Stingray 3LT Spoiler

Hey guys,
New vette owner here and I'm looking at adding a few things however I'm a little confused when it comes to this spoiler. I'm sure this is common sense to most of you, but I'm trying to find out what stage (if it is even a staged) spoiler I have. It is painted the same as the body. I have tried to upload a picture, however it will not post. The car is a 2016 Stingray LT3. The end goal is the stage 2 carbon flash spoiler. For this spoiler, would it be required to remove the entire spoiler I have on the car, or is it customary that the stage 2 and 3 are merely plastic pieces that bolt onto the stage one? If that is indeed the case, kinda crappy to have to paint the factory spoiler that I have.

On a second topic, what is the major difference between the stage 2 and 3? Is it only the transparent plastic piece in the middle?

Thanks in advance.

You might want to go to the Chevrolet Corvette website and under the build a car (“configuator”) look under the Exterior. Sounds like you have a Z51 spolier and want a Z06 spolier?

The spoiler you have is just the stock Z51 spoiler, there are no different stages for it like there are with the Z06 spoiler. As far as adding a stage 2 or 3 Z06 spoiler you can do it one of two ways. The harder way is taking off the rear bumper and remove your Z51 spoiler and install an aftermarket or OEM Z06 spoiler. The OEM spoiler will stick out past the rear of the car about an inch or so. I have seen aftermarket ones that mount flush and are made for the Stingray. The holes will line up the same so you will not have re- drill to make them fit. The second way is the way I did it. I bought the OEM Z06 winglets (not the entire spoiler ) and mounted them to my existing Z51 spoiler. It’s fairly easy to do and looks just as good in my opinion. Here is the link that I posted from when I did the conversion. Hope this helps.

Yes the difference between the the stage 2 and 3 is the transparent piece. There is also a stage 1 and the winglets are shorter in height than the stage two. This is my car with the stage two.

I had thought about it for my Z51 conv. but for something that is 99% looks (in my circumstances, don't track it) it
would cut 2 plus MPG just for looks...but it does look cool

What you're wanting is an FE2, Z51 package spoiler. Not a 3LT spoiler..... Yes, they're affixed directly over the Lil duck tail spoiler.

FE2 is the RPO for Magnetic Selective Ride Control on a base Stingray. It has nothing to do with the Z51 spolier. The spoiler is RPO 5ZU (body color) or 5ZV (Carbon Flash Metallic color).

OP, Playboy2 gave you the good answer.

Actually, it does...... You're missing that the Z51 spoiler, may be included in the FE2 package. Although it's not broken out on the window sticker as such, but rather lumped in with the 3LT Preferred Equipment Grp. Nonetheless, it's still there on my C7. ...

Without a photo from the OP, it's not clear what he's got. To simplify it, using the term Z51, nails it. Of course the various Wicker Bill Stages are the standards for the Z06/GS.....spoilers.

Joe, that was true for your 2017 which has the "Z51 look-alike" package where FE2 included the Z515 spoiler plus (XFJ) P245/35ZR19 front and P285/30ZR20 rear, performance, summer-only, run flat tires and 19” front and 20” rear wheels (select from R87, Q7S, Q7E, Q7T or QCC wheels, unless ordered with ZLD/ZLE/ZLG Design Packages which include R86 or R87 wheels).

I don't remember when the "Z51 look alike" package got added and the 2014 to 2016 order guides are no longer available. It definitely was not available in 2014. So possibly 2015 and 2016. Definitely 2017, but no more in 2018 or 2019.

In 2018/2019 FE2 gets you MSRC period.

Thank you!, this was also an answer I needed. Any issues at high speeds and does it hang of the sides a bit? It looks great to me also and I already have stage 2\3 ready to install but didn't see a point in buying a Z06 spoiler as they look the same.

No they do not hang off the sides, the winglets are flush with the rear of the car. If you plan on adding the stage 3 center piece then they may have to stick past a bit, as that it is the only way to make it fit. I had no plans of adding the center piece so I lined them up so that they would be flush with the rear of the car It’s been over 2 years so far and zero issues with high speeds.
