Be sure to check for grammatical errors as well. Thanks.

This is NOT true. My 2015 C7 does not have WiFi and I connect the Pandora app on the phone to the Pandora app on MyLink through Bluetooth. No WiFi in the car and the phone is certainly not on WiFi while driving.

With my 2014 I have the Pandora app on my iPhone. Unlock the phone, plug it in to the USB port and press the Pandora icon on the home screen and it puts all the info on the screen. It just uses the data from my phone connection. Pretty painless.

The system must have changed after 2015. I could use Pandora through Bluetooth on a 2013 Malibu. On my 2019 Vette, it requires a wifi connection to control it from the touchscreen. Same with I Heart Radio. It works if I set my phone as a hotspot.

You're probably playing extra $$$ for the ability to use your phone as a hotspot.
I have Sprint with unlimited data, and I haven't been charged for usb tethering or setting as a hotspot. It's a Samsung GS8, if that makes a difference.

Maybe it's changed but according to http://techland.time.com/2014/02/04/...other-devices/

Sprint: Mobile hotspot use starts at $10 per month for 1 GB, regardless of whether you have an unlimited smartphone data plan. If you do have an an unlimited smartphone plan, you can tack on 5 GB of hotspot use for $30 per month. By comparison, Sprint’s tablet data plans cost $15 per month for 300 MB and $30 per month for 3 GB.

Also on Sprint's site itself (http://m.sprint.com/mobile/landings/hotspot.html):

You work and play well with others, so should your phone

Activate the mobile hotspot on your phone and it becomes even more powerful. For just $29.99/month*, connect multiple Wi-Fi®-enabled devices to your hotspot-capable phone and take the Web with you wherever you go. Data usage with your mobile hotspot is limited to 5 GB per month while on the Sprint network. The 5 GB usage limit includes a combination of both 3G and 4G data. Data used over 5 GB will be subject to an overage rate of $0.05 per MB. There is a monthly data allowance of 300 MB while you are off-network roaming. This off-network roaming limit includes a combination of phone and mobile hotspot data usage.
Maybe you have some sort of special plan or deal and/or maybe those references above are old. In any event, I'm not really interested in tethering things to my phone in my 2 seater sports car when it seems like I might incur a subscription cost every month.

Finally someone that is making some freaking sense. It does not work any other way in than this in I06 and newer HMI's. Exactly what the OP was asking in his first post. The ignorant want to stay ignorant though.

This entire thread you have contradicted yourself and avoided the facts and have done nothing to answer the OP's question correctly. Your stupid little comments just show how much of a keyboard warrior you are. Either way you have been wrong the whole time and you still are wrong. Must be a pleasure working with someone like yourself.

P.S. I just read your website. LMAO. Now I understand what I'm dealing with. Your old af and so is any of the technology you know. And you have the typical Software Dev attitude. hahahaha Man I'm outta here. I knew your were a fn clown.

OP has the correct info now, from me of course. There is no need for me to come back in here and argue with a halfwit that embellishes himself.

You're assuming that was my intent and aim. It wasn't.

I do fairly well with speech to text too! I have many talents... All offered to you at no additional charge!

I have the Unlimited Freedom plan. It includes 50GB of mobile hotspot/tethering per month.

You nailed it Ron. Don't understand why so many seem to have such a limited understanding of these simple electronics these days. I'm 71 and really don't seem to struggle much. Some things yes, when they are newer of more complicated. Nice write Ron

I'm not finding how I can use WiFi with Pandora. Maybe a kind network ninja could point me in the right direction...

I don't use the car WiFi option or Pandora, but I do have some insight on keeping the resident expert busy.

Just post some short statement - true or not - that is inconsistent with what he has said previously, then read the rest of the forum whilst he spends a lot of time posting long, somewhat coherent, multi quoting, and pointed rebuttals. You need to be able to not be bothered by childish name calling or really childish PMs, but it can be a fun exercise in exploring the goofier side of human nature. If you want to waste more of his time, point out a spelling error or two while posting your pointless fact. Then don't bother reading his diatribes.

Well it looks like the networking ninja has left the building. Figures, just when he's been shown to be 100% WRONG!!!l I also downloaded and installed Pandora and hooked it up to my 2016 C7 Vette. No WiFi! Never turned it on, never configured it, never paid for it. Pandora work without issue and most importantly - WITHOUT WIFI WHATSOEVER!!

Of course, he'll never come back and actually admit he was wrong but I would suggest, if anybody knows who he is when he's not cowardly hiding behind a handle, to fully advise their companies not to avail of his services as if he gets the super simple WiFi thing all wrong, just wonder how he'll mess up your companies network!

Oh I'm here and 100% wrong. I based everything on my 2017 Camaro SS's newer IO6 module. But seems to not be a feature in the Vette. In the Camaro you can hook Mylink up to Wifi and download apps from the App store. I don't disappear when I mess up, I'm here to face the "I told you so's".

I better get back to my ACI Fabric deployment. Wouldn't want your VoIP Software to get choppy service on my terrible network.

The fact remains you don't need WiFi in order to use Pandora in a C7 Corvette which was the topic at hand here. You said it was required. It's demonstrable that it's not. BTW, from what I've seen the C7 2016 and up has the same IO6 module.

You argued incessantly touting your so-called credentials as some big networking chief who knows it all. You stated "Yes, you do need a wifi connection to use the Pandora App on the Mylink system" and that is not correct. You had to go further and insult me with statements like "This entire thread you have contradicted yourself and avoided the facts and have done nothing to answer the OP's question correctly" when I actually did answer the OPs question correctly. That and "Your stupid little comments just show how much of a keyboard warrior you are" when all I was doing was stating the truth. You said "Either way you have been wrong the whole time and you still are wrong" when the exact opposite was true. You further insulted me with "Your old af and so is any of the technology you know. And you have the typical Software Dev attitude. hahahaha Man I'm outta here. I knew your were a fn clown". Well this "Software Dev" dude was right while the networking ninja was wrong. Who's the fn clown now? Then you further attacked me by saying "There is no need for me to come back in here and argue with a halfwit that embellishes himself". The only person who's a halfwit here that (attempts to) embellish himself is YOU.

And, of course, you could have left it alone but nooooo!!! You have in inject yet some more bragging about your networking ninja prowess, Look, I'm sure you know a lot about networking and cloud stuff, etc. But here you done fucked up good. A real, thoughtful gentleman would make a formal, sincere apology but I'm not holding my breath that you'll suddenly become that!

I apologize, I was an *** and I was wrong. Not only did I insist I was right, I started to personally attack you. When you threw out the Internet Ninja insult it sparked retaliation. I'm better than that and do not typically behave in this manor. It is your time to bask in the sun.

A bigger man than I thought! Apology accepted. Next time try not being such a dick. Realize that you can be wrong despite having superior knowledge in a field. Check your premises before firing off. We all can be wrong at times, including me. That's for all the people who say to me that I'm a know it all. I'm not. I can be wrong. And I admit it.

TriPinTaZ is a good man who had admitted his mistake. Bravo! I salute you!

Just curious, did we figure out if there are two different versions.

I ask because my 18 Malibu refused to allow the apps to be used over bluethooth even with bluethooth teathering enabled. This results in me having to use my phone as a hot spot.

I have an app called carspot to enable the hotspot automatically once the bluethooth connection has been made.
