Offers to sell wheel to the OP have been removed. If you want to sell your wheels, post a for sale thread in the C7 Parts For Sale/Wanted section.

Ask your dealer who they use for damaged wheels at their place. They will recommend the mobile wheel repair company they use. And that wheel can be repaired at your home in less than an hour by one of the mobile wheel repair businesses in your area. $200 or less. The only wheels that cannot be repaired on site are chrome wheels. Yours are painted, not powder coated. No problem.

Buy a new wheel and tire, but DON"T let the dealer mess with tires! Just another of life's learning experiences... could have been much worse. All the best.

My wife did that very same thing to ours. I’m in Oregon, which don’t help you much, we had ours repaired local Portland area, took them four hrs. I waited, cost was $110, it was fixed six mo. Ago, and still looks perfect. Has a life time warranty, so it can be fixed, but do your home work, check for reviews. Go in and look at there work, good luck!

Oh! And the beads fine, that’s why it has the lip on it, to help protect the rim from minor scrapes. Mine did the same thing and is fine it can’t damage the bead, it’s protected by the rim. But it’s your call, my dealer wanted $647.00 for a new rim.

Thanks for all the replies so far. I found a few more repair shops nearby, so hopefully I have luck with one of those.

Wash it. Mask it. Paint it yourself. Done. $6

This coming from a guy that hasn't washed his C7 in months so obviously I might care less about how my car looks than you.

If you're not particular, you can use a Dremel tool to sand down the rash and then paint the rim with Rustoleum Gloss Black Acrylic Enamel. You cannot see the fix from a couple feet away.

I used these guys to fix a wheel on my BMW. Did a great job for $100. Wasn't the same kind of damage, but worth a call.

Looks like brake dust in the lug barrels, and these wheels are painted in gloss black, not carbon flash.

You can get a complete set of take-offs on eBay for that much. As mentioned, if you do not care about perfection, then you can tape off the surrounding area, lightly sand, and paint the damage section in gloss black... or most wheel repair shops can make it look like new again. A lot of options, but buying a new wheel from GM would rank at the bottom.

Can easily get the wheel fixed. I wouldn't even bother with a new tire as that damage is not structural in any way. That is damage to the wheel protector and nothing else.

I agree 100%. There is nothing structurally wrong with that tire.

Sorry, but theres no way thats brake dust.

Does nobody read the posts or actually take the time too really look at the pictures? OP said it wasn't painted and that he has the dealer change out the wheels, my bet is the dealer took advantage of OP and did a chit-quick paint on the original wheels instead of actually changing them.

This could have been a blessing in disguise, get them all powder coated and never deal with the paint coming off again.
Oh gotcha, yeah that’s not painted. It came that way, I bought this car new.

None of it matters... OP said he's trading the car in soon. Leave it as is or touch up the wheel with a paint marker and call it a day. It's curb rash, not the end of the world.

To OP I to, did a curb on one of my black Z51 rims shortly after purchase. I was po'd at myself and went ahead and bought a new wheel,. GM takes the old wheel as a core. I paid 531 for a new rim from a dealer and they did a free install. They didn't offer that price up front, but with a little knowledge the parts guys gave me a break. Everything is negotiable.

I did, and it looks like brake dust... you can clearly see it on the second lug nut too... exact same color. I believe the OP’s response was based on the picture. If he’d actually go look at it again, and stick his finger in lug barrel, he could debunk your conspiracy theory that the dealer took advantage. I do agree, “none of it matters,” but since you brought it up again...

First I want to say, I hope we all agree this is not a pissing match. Just discussing the finer points in interweb-life!

It could be dust, but I still hold to it being not painted. I see a light reflection at the bottom of this hole from the lug nut and what looks like machine marks in the barrel (see attached photo)? I also see what I perceive as over spray on the pic you show, but then again it could be going the other way and it's light dusting on the edge?

My Z51 brakes do not dust this color, they dust plenty, but not this color. The only dust I've seen that color is limestone dust.

The mystery continues!

dang it, sorry it's so small. (that's what she said!)
