Default Power steering recall

This may have been posted but I haven't seen anything here yet. Many of us with 2017's had long on going threads about our loss if power steering. I just was notified that GM has issued a recall.

Yep, see it on mine. Says a remedy is not yet available though....so sounds like we'll have to wait a little bit before getting it replaced.

Since a few of us went through this when our cars were new I'm hoping I don't have to do anything, my whole steering rack was replaced. Once they replaced my rack they never got the alignment correct again. When I got new rear tires a couple weeks ago i finally went to a real alignment shop and had it correctly done.

Good luck when they get ready to do the work.

Thanks for the heads up here.

...I've got a 2017 C7 too, manufactured 8/16. I haven't heard of this or been contacted by GM.

I’ve already had my whole steering rack replaced on my 2017 GS. I had the same issue on my previous 2016 Camaro SS. On that it was a loose ground on the motor

This must be for a specific Equipment / package. My 2017 Base A8 1LT has no recall issued.... Unless you count the recall I issued by putting a Range AFM disable on it.

I found that Kerbeck's had the best solution... when I flew up to pick up my new '17 in September of 2017.

As I was getting ready to leave for the 1600 mile trip home the p/s when out. Kerbecks gave me an identical '18 for the same price to get me on my way within a couple hours of my initial intended departure! Funky p/s = year newer car! Problem solved!
