Go into settings and make sure you have Link to Drive Mode checked. Chances are when you replaced the battery it got unchecked.

Thanks. I'm looking at replacing the battery in my car soon so I saved this tip just in case I run into the same problem.

I read something and I cant remember where if you attach a battery charger to the cables you wont lose your settings as power keeps flowing to electronics

^^^
My 2014 battery was out for one hour. Only thing I had to do was index my passenger side window not even the driver's side. Many report the same. Always can be different. Doubt the GM (or equivalent) charger will work as if it doesn't "see a battery" it shuts down. Some have used a small 9 volt battery (they sell such devices) but in the C7 no real need.

Great thread, it is a pain in the *** to reset anything back to your "Normal".
How long can you have the battery out of car before you start loosing settings???? 2017 GS
and a good question, can I attach my trickle charger to the cables while the battery is out and
anyone know best place and part number for the battery "pull up" cable/handle to remove...????

Just changed the battery about a week ago. Well worth the cost!

The memory settings are stored in ROM and none are lost with the battery out during replacement. The only thing that I know that needs to be reset is the window index function and all is well.

You can't store user adjustable settings in ROM.

Well, then they use a good stone tablet and chisel them down because I didn't lose any memory settings on my car for my battery change. Only had to index the windows.

Wherever it's stored or if they have small battery that keeps that memory, my experience and most others who have posted say only window indexing required.
