Putting vastly different tread compounds on the front and back is a bit strange. I get it for a drag car that will not go around a corner fast, but on a standard street car that is unwise.
I'm 75 had 33 vetts raced in club events and drag raced, ran starting line at drag strip did tech inspections for both kinds of events. My neighbor was a tire engineer for Michelin when I had my experience with my two different tires on my corvette took a while to figure it out that was 1985 ish.

I would think the only reason for going with different tread patterns would be that you know there's an advantage in doing so. If not, why do it? Maybe couldn't find one tire in both sizes? Seems like an odd choice to me, but I'm not an expert. But I'd like to know. Like the wheels though!
After realizing the 255 was too narrow for my 9.5 inch wheel. I put 275/30/19 Nitto 05 up front. Car now has same tires all the way around. No issues with the 275 fronts. Running 305/30/20 Nitto 05 out back. Car handles unreal on dry...lol
I really didn't like the different tread compounds on this car. It's so light that it felt so much different today after the new fronts. It just feels more solid and stable. I appreciate all of your responses and glad I listened. Car is a different animal.
