Hi Everyone, I have a 2015 Stingray 2LT with the see through top, I fine puddles of water behind the driver seat after rain, I purchased the vehicle in November of 2018 with 4600 miles and I'm thinking that the leak is why the previous owner sold it with such low miles, Has anyone else had this problem and if so what was done to repair it? Thanks in advance.
All tops (clear/solid) are adjusted for proper fit & seal at factory. Likely among the last steps on assembly line.
Lastly cars are exposed to high pressure water specifically looking for leaks from top/windows or where ever.
C7 is still relatively new so worn/dried out weather stripping's likely not the issue.
Bet orig owner tried getting a better seal, maybe due to a wind noise?
Whatever their motive they fiddled w/ adjustment screws & goofed up seal accounting for water leak.
Couple options to properly remedy this.
1) Dealer. (Costliest choice)
2) Indy body shop familiar w/ Corvettes.
C5/6/7 top assemblies appear similar so top adjustment process probably similar also.
Step one is you have to water test it. The top may or may not be the source of the leak. I would probably take this to the dealer since they will have a water test stand and hopefully someone who has some experience with water leaks.
My C6 and C7 both came with painted tops. When I put on the transparent tops I noticed some leaking. The receptacles for the rear posts needed a slight adjustment downward to seal the tops properly.

Do you happen to have info on how such an adjustment is made?
Lots of Vettes get sold with similar miles and no problems. Yes, find the leak and fix it, as noted. That's what the guy who sold it to you should or would have probably done had he decided to keep it. No biggie. All the best and most importantly... ENJOY !

Remove the trim on the targa band and there are two torx fasteners that hold each of the receptacles in place. When loosened you can slide the receptacle assembly up or down as needed. In my case sliding down seated the rear gasket tighter and did the trick.
You can also adjust the rear latch to close tighter but in my case the issue was only one side.
Took it to the dealer, $368.00 charge, Bought it home and put in the garage for two weeks, Moved it outside for three days, It rained a few days and when I checked it there was water behind the driver seat again, Taking it back to the dealer Monday, Thanks for your help.

What did they say was the problem, and what did they say was the repair ?
Thanks, It has the transparent top, I have the feeling that it did not come with that top, Also has aftermarket rims, 20 inch tires on front and back, Will try the dealer one more time and/or look for solid top.

Well ok. You don't have to answer the question if you don't want to, but just know, changing the top may not fix anything. This is why I asked what did the dealer say the problem is ?
Hello, I have an 05 with the tinted top. I park outside so the GF can park in the garage. If I park nose in my driveway is at a slope so the front is higher than the back. The water puddles right at the curve of the door INSIDE the weatherstrip. There is a gap where the quarter trim and rocker trim meet. The water goes thru the gap and gets the back of the carpet wet on my drivers side only. I now back in, nose lower and no problem.
It can be difficult to track down leaks as water will typically fine the lowest point to settle. While it could be the roof, don’t assume based on the location of the standing water. It could also be coming through the seals of the windshield, side windows, rear quarter windows, or hatch. Check for pinched or torn weather striping. I had a leak in a new truck once and it took weeks and several trips to the dealership to remedy. They ultimately conducted a smoke test and discovered that the water was coming through the third brake light. I know that it can be frustrating. GL.
