Can a HUD windshield be installed in a non head corvette. I know there will be no image. The reason I ask is I am having a windshield being installed in a 2014 and a2015 corvettes. I purchased both wind shield from a chevy dealer. Both windshields came in and both windshields say HUD in the lower left corner. The dealer says that they both came in with the right part numbers but one windshield doesn't have a number and the other has a number on a sticker that indicates that it is the HUD widow. The dealer or anyone else doesn't know if they are both Hud Windshields. The 2014 doesn't have hud so if both windshields say hud in the lower right corner would it be Ok to install a Hud windshield in a non hud corvette ????????????????????

No problem
One suggestion however. I've seen many replacement OEM windshields with damaged trim around the upper edge. They arrive from GM that way so look carefully

It makes sense they only produce one windshield for the replacement market. The HUD one works in the non HUD car and they don't have to produce and maintain two different part numbers or worry about the non HUD windshield getting into a HUD car. Reduces supply costs and reduces the chance of making a mistake. No brainer.
There are separate part numbers for the HUD and Non HUD windshield and both are still in production
If your dealer is telling you any different , find another dealer .....
The HUD windshield will have "HUD " in the silk screened "Bug" in the corner and the non hud will not . Both are made by AGC Corp
Using a HUD windshield in a NON HUD car will not hurt anything but your pocketbook as it is much more expensive but will be totally undectable to the untrained
the cost was about a difference of $65.00. I paid for one with Hud and paid for one without the Hud. The supplier sent 2 windshields that had Hud. ( The suppliers mistake ) So if I can install the Hud windshield in a no Hud Corvette and won't have a problem I will go that route .
The cost difference is usually a lot more than 65 bucks , so either you over paid for the non HUD, underpaid for the HUD or you get a fantastic price as a JOBBER ...my guess is since they told you that they both the same part number , you paid the non hud price for both
Either way , you made out in the deal .....if u return one

I Purchased 2 windshields. One for a 2015 Z51 coupe and one for a 2014 Z51 Convertible. The Coupe was a OEM GM windshield with hud for $530.00 The other windshield for the convertible was a OEM GM windshield for $460.00 and was not supposed to be a Hud windshield but the supplier send a Hud windshield by mistake for the Convertible.
