I have a 2017 GS, 3LT, M7 with 1000 miles on the odo. It’s white with spice red interior. MSRP was just over $82K. Car is perfect.
Considering trading on a new 2019 GS, 2LT, auto. MSRP is $75,250.
Whats a reasonable price difference? My car plus how much cash? I have an amount in mind but wanted to see other opinions. Maybe even a dealer could weigh in with a similar deal they have???
On a good day, your car plus $12K plus tax, tags and dealer fees. Anything above your car plus $15 K and IMHO you're getting screwed.
This is based on current discounting of at least 10%, assumes both are coupes.
Thanks for the feedback. Reason I’m considering trading is couple reasons. My car is white and the ‘19 is orange, which I really like. So why did I buy white in the first place? Got an excellent deal and hadn’t seen the orange. Other reason is cause it’s two years newer. Don’t really care about auto vs manual. I’ve driven both for years and at this point in my life don’t mind either.
Dont need to trade just kicking it around. I change vehicles often, very often.

That's kinda what I was thinkin, or at least hoping. My car and $6000. Which means of course the dealer will want my car and $10,000-$12,000. That’s how it always works.

Just another example of the benefits of researching and then, and only then, buying what you really want in the first place. In any event, I, truly hope it works out for you!
My guess is the dealers offer will make you choke on the deal. Me personally, 10K would make me reconsider and not go for it. Your existing C7 sounds like a winner to me.
I have an almost identical Grand Sport to yours and I am in the process of trading it in on a new Z06/Z07. The dealer gave me $54K on the trade-in. According to Kelly Blue Book the trade in value is between $54K to $58K. I got $10K off MSRP on the new car.
Ya just wanted to get some objective input. I’ll probably keep my ‘17. Maybe the C8 will come in orange. Just FYI KBB trade in value on my car is $57k - $59k. That’s optimistic (aka wrong). Probably closer to $50k.
