Default Re-programming instrument cluster

I don't like the lack of options for displaying ACTUAL coolant temp in the main instrument cluster (2014 3LT stingray). I can only access it with the display in the touring mode, and as so many others have stated, the idiot light/temp display in sport mode is pretty useless. Has anyone hacked the software from Johnson controls or is that even possible? It would be great if one could order a custom set of display options so individuals could configure the display more to their liking. Any thoughts or ideas?

As a fellow 2014 owner, I hear you, but I'm pretty sure we're stuck with it as-is.

No hacks or anything like that that I have heard of, or even hinted at.

Not even a way to update the cluster display to the newer, slightly improved layouts.

It's probably not going to happen. GM uses cryptographic signatures on the cluster firmware, so you can't change any of the data. There may be some way to bypass that, but it's probably a lot more effort than it's worth to figure out how.
