Default Heated/vent seat issue

Hey guys,

I have seen a lot of people complaining about their heated/vent seats not working while the indicator lights are on.. however mine have stopped working with no indicator lights coming on. Oddly enough, this did the same thing about a week ago. After the car sat for a couple hours and started back up, they worked? Once more, they have stopped responding. All 3 fuses are good. Any other suggestions before taking to the stealership?

Many C7 owners complaint about them even when they are working.

Definitely have read a fair share of that lol! Mine have worked fairly well (when they turn on!) Just can't seem to figure out how they can work one day and not the next..

My '19's seats absolutely warm better than did my '14's. Ventilation seems about the same - that is to say it feels as if you wet your pants!

Just thinking outside the box here. These cars do stupid things when the battery get weak. I don't know what year model, or how old the car is so I'm just guessing. I haven't heard of this problem before so hopefully someone will come along with some better thoughts. Good luck.

Appreciate it, it is a 2015 2LT, 7K miles... have no other signs of weak battery but always appreciate thinking out of the box. Could be!

I had a similar problem in my C6. In my case it would sometimes work and sometimes not. Fixing the corroded battery connections helped. But what also helped was the discovery of the heater module under the seat having burned connections at the connector. I got another module and that fixed it.

If the battery is original at 4 years I would say it is time to change it out... Even though it is probably fine for an older car, our cars like new batteries... My new battery fixed all kinds of weird things that would happen once or twice.. How does the bluetooth module know you have a new battery

Seems like my heated seats used to get warmer. Taking her in for spring oil change Friday, will have them look at the seats & report back.

Looks like I'll have to test that out. Very strange! Thank you.

The heating/cooling in my 15 is terrible. Coming from BMW's mostly it doesn't even feel like they are on. Even other GM products do better in this category.

After owning Corvettes for over 30 years nothing that happens is strange to me anymore. Myself, and many others have found that a seemingly good battery (that is a bit weak) can cause these cars to act a fool. And, we never know how old these batteries are before they are actually installed in the car. Hopefully that's all you'll need to get yours seats corrected. Good luck.

I did learn online that Chevy really should market Corvette C7 as "Heated and VENTILATED" seats. People who have cooled seats like in a Silverado will be disappointed. The truck uses the cars cooling and vent system to cool seats. The C7 just has a fan that blows up through the seat. I noticed it feels great for like a minute or 2, but sensation fades. Good for getting into hot car.. then turn it off. They should make people aware of difference between cooled seats and ventilated seats. It wasn't a buying point for me when purchasing my C7 Z06/07... and usually grinning so much when I am driving it.. I wouldn't notice anything anyway.

Heated seats? Corvettes have about the most useless "heated seats" you can find. I have MULTIPLE cars in my family with heated seats...all of them heat up A LOT within one mile of driving...the corvette C7 seats take 10 minutes or more to generate enough heat to even sense it. If I was a fan of heated seats I would complain much more, but for me it's no big deal.

AFAIK, the seats have never been touted as "cooled."

They definitely take longer to heat than C6 seats do, but that's because the heating element is not directly on your behind, due to construction differences, but they do get plenty warm, w/o scorching your *** like the C6.

Default Not very warm

Just got back from dealer and spring oil change. Had them check the heated seats and they say they are working fine.
They said both seats heat to the same level. I've only had the car for 2 years but I thought the seats got warmer last year.
Maybe I'm thinking of my C6

So to take this another step forward....when the seats aren't working.... the A/C does not blow cold air. What could be the common factor here?

When you say they aren't working, do you mean the ventilation, the heating, or both?

If you mean the ventilation, one of the big factors in any kind of cooling effect is cabin air temp (specifically the floor air temp). The colder the floor temp, the better they work, so if your cabin isn't getting cold, the air being blown on you is warm, so it's not going to do anything.

I mean neither are functioning at all! Press either button, no lights come on.. oddly enough, the A/C light comes on, but only blows warm air. No rhyme or reason to when it happens.
