Default Rocks stuck in panel gap

On the C7 what is the best method for removing rocks stuck in the panel gap between the rocker panel and the rear quarter panel in front of the rear tire? On the C6 you simply loosened a couple screws on the rocker panel and voila. On the C7 it’s not readily apparent how this is done.

Just gently push inward with a toothpick and they fall down through the inside. Don't pull them out. That might scratch the paint. Just a gentle push and they tumble down.

Thanks for the tip. Should I get rocks stuck in that area, I'll give this a try.

Intresting. This is the first I've heard of this on a C7.

The C6 was notorious for this. My '09 had it really bad, but my '05 never did to this day. It makes sense if they're getting in there the same way.

My '14 has none after a hundred thousand miles.

With just under 700 miles on my 2019 GS I replaced the back spats or mud like flap with an after market one that is little larger. The after market one fit tighter than OEM less gaps. But when I pulled the OEM off I was surprised to see a small hand full of little rocks inside the rear bumper rear quarter area. I never drove on any gravel roads yet.

Pushing them in with a toothpick worked. Thanks.

Just get a plastic body shop tool and wedge it in the gap, then blow the rocks out with an air compressor.

^^^
+1. I'd try to gently expand the gap with a plastic trim tool to mitigate scratching.
