Default THANK YOU!!! to my query on Altitude

At this check there are 20 responses, all telling me not to worry. So I will worry NOT. Thanks EVERYONE. Many of you asked about "the trip". Well the part that I was concerned about was a short segment of the return trip from the East Coast. I have done Route 66 before (Chicago to Santa Monica) so I knew that was no issue. I did that following my delivery at Bowling Green. But this trip has a "Hwy 70" requirement. So that meant higher "Rockies". Day 3 of the return starts at the "Confluence" where the Mississippi and Missouri meet. Then to KC as the overnight, putting the Missouri astern of me. Then on Day 4 the long slow climb to Estes Park in Colorado and an altitude check gave me pause. The extreme part a short 50 mile segment cresting just west of the Colorado River Trail Head. After a brief stop at the Colorado River Trail Head, Day 5 will have a long slow drop, back to familiar altitudes.

Again thank you all - it will be a great trip.

Took my 'vette over the Continental Divide twice at 12000+ ft and it was noticeably low on power due to the low oxygen content, but otherwise unaffected

^same as this guy. I took a stingray over Independence Pass between Aspen and Twin Lakes and got to 12k'ish (great road!). There were some spots with no one around where I got on it a bit and could absolutely feel a difference but it was expected

You are gonna love the ride up to Estes Park. It's absolutely beautiful. We did that drive in our F-150, and it didn't miss a beat. Except they were having a Rodeo that week, and we got behind a 8 horse trailer. He couldn't do much on the climb up, so we just enjoyed the slow pace to take in the scenery. Have a great trip, and here's hoping the weather will be the best.

We took Hwy 36 into Estes Park from Denver. This is what awaited us just outside of our motel room the next morning.
