Any LT4 problems?

Hello, I’m looking at a 2015 LT3 / Z51 that has the LT4 engine. The car has 21,000 miles on it. Any advice regarding the dependability of this engine would be welcomed. Thank you.

Regarding trim level believe you mean 3LT. If it was a Z51 it came with an LT1, the LT4 is in the Z06. If it truly had an LT4 then someone did an engine swap...perhaps someone dropped an LT4 blower on top of an LT1. Regardless sounds like a modified car, so understand what you’re getting into.

That’s what I thought. I did some reading and only saw it on the ZO6. Here’s the picture of the engine. Thank you for the reply....I will ask the dealership about it..

Several on the forum have done similar, you can pick up an LT4 blower for around $2500. Like any other mod of this significance is who did the work, what kind of a tune, and completeness of the swap. Personally I’d tread carefully.

Check out the forced induction section of the C7 forum, plenty of threads on similar.

One last thought, the supercharger mod will void the 5yr/60k GM powertrain warranty. Of course depending on the in service date there may be not much left anyway...if that is important.
