2023 C7 of the Year Winner - Unmodified
2018 C6 of Year Winner
These questions just keep on Keepin' On and the answer is always the same. GM is the ONLY one who knows and they're not telling.

You'll know by late July for sure as that is usually when retail production starts. I would imagine that questions like this will be asked at the Bash later this month.

Chevrolet has historically answered this question at the Bash by making announcements of what's coming for 2020. Many believe they will say nothing this year at the Bash. I guess we'll have to wait until the end of this month to see what is actually said or not said. After that, it's anyone's guess what's happening this year.
BTW, once again, the latest edition of Corvette Magazine (June 2019 edition) received yesterday, stated that the C7 WILL be manufactured along side the C8 according to a conversation with former Chief Corvette Engineer Bill McLellan. We'll see.

Well it's only April. Why would they be talking about a 2020 model at this point when they are trying to sell '19's? Makes no sense at all.

Why not just buy a 2019? Except for color changes we shouldn’t expect any major changes.

If believe Rick Conti, they are taking orders for 2019's for production through the end of July right now; and, if we expect the C8 to be available in January 2020, it would require a plant shut down in early September, making a 2020 C7 highly unlikely as I can't see them building them for just 30-60 days.
That raises the second question: is it 1983 all over again - when we go from a 2019 C7 to a 2021 C8, with no 2020 Corvette?

GM should already be finalizing production if the rumored C8 is supposed to arrive soon. Sales have been down for GM and even their trucks dropped to 3rd place last month so for them to invest in a low volume sports car might not be in their best interest at this time so they keep on making C7's.

With the current low production rates personnel training could be going on right now. They may need to have some specialty tooling for the C8 but that doesn't mean they have to wait until September to start placing it where it will be needed and training people on its use. With C7 build progressing through July that is only a one month delay from the standard end of June shut off. They went from building C6s in June to building C7s in late July/early August so I don't see the need for a long shut down even if they do business the way they have before.

They have already built several C8 test cars in Bowling Green plant. One Friday a month they do it with a limited number of plant workers?

The inventory of C7s doesn't delay the announcement of the next year's production, but the mid-engine car will have a huge affect on it.

Yup, that guy. That's why I put the "we'll see" at the end of the sentence. Dave Hill (of C5 and C6 fame) and Tom Wallace were also part of the interview.
